to be honest, for me the bmpt really ruined the fun i had in top tier, i loved playing in 12.7 to 10.7 with my Italian lineups, but ever since the addition of the bmpt is just couldnt really have fun since as much as i love the Ariete…they are my favourite tank, they stand no chance against the bmpt in my experience IF my barrel doesnt get shreded or my ammo doesnt explode i can kill them most of the time but it really is easy to kill the Ariete from the front with a BMPT and most of the time i have no time to react to them, the same goes with the Centauro 120, i can kill them if flank them (thoe there were plenty of times where i shot their side and my apfsds did nothing but that was said countelss of times in the forum post so its nothing new), the Otomatic stands zero chance because of the big ahh forhead and the KF 41 is just no match for the bmpt since yet again the KF 41 is a big IFV…
do take this with a HUGE grain of salt, im just an average player at best and play to have fun so this might just be skill issue, i just wanted to quickly type this out
bro are they going to nerf BMPT anytime soon ffs
I’ve been avoiding playing 10.7+ just because of BMPT alone and Gaijin has been doing jack shit after moving it to 11.3 (still too low) weeks ago
holy fucking russian bias
Russian tank are pathetic irl but yea ofc its unkillable in game
they arent getting a cent from me from now on fuck this company
ive been getting free premium by grinding events and selling them for gaijin coins and I rarely ever use my own money, and now im never spending a dime on this shit game again
No its not but i feel like trying to explain to you why sample size matters especially in video games would be a complete and utter waste of time so im just gonna let it be. Maybe someone with more patience can explain to you why comparing stats in wildly different BRs with wildy different sample sizes is nonsensical
It’s totally going to be a huge waste of time because your approach would imply punishing players on the basis of tech tree population i e something he doesn’t even control which isn’t fair play.
No it wouldnt. Taking playrates into account doesnt punish players depending on population. It just diminishes the role of player skill differences in balancing decisions.
If the BMPT was played only by a handful of people and performed above average than that might be due to an expert playerbase. Insane popularity should have the opposite effect
Inb4 turms which is probably the most popular wt vehicle.
Skill differences aren’t measurable and the implication of better skill in small tree is baseless. I understand that it’s possible to have skill gaps but we don’t have a way to gauge it and take this into account in matchmaking. Before we’re able to do that telling 57 player in one tech tree that he has to go higher in br when compared to his twin in another tech tree because more people played his vehicle is complete bs.
You mean the results where both tanks saved their crew, allowed them to retreat while it was more than capable to engage with enemy units?
Yeah I agree, also you can add Chally-2 to that list.
Meanwhile Russian tanks either get blown up and made their entire crew new cosmonauts for upcoming space programs or got beaten up by M2 Bradley from close range.
Which something most Russian tanks lacks in nowadays, guess truth hurts doesnt it?
Dont confuse ingame Russian tanks with real life counterparts , they do overperforms in game but they currently suck in most areas in 21th century.
The only decent Russian Tank that is in active service is T-90M and even then that tank lacks crucial abilities such as reverse speed and ROF, at least its much better than cheap upgrade you can find on old T-80BV’s.
It is and its performance is absolutely not great at all so whats your point exactly?
Its not, because its not about just being played more its about being played a lot more with a playerbase thats average or below average but still pulling off stats that are a good amount above average. Being played a lot doesnt automatically mean a vehicle is op but being played a lot while having very good statistics is a very consistent indication that something is too strong.
Yes i like my tax dollar to go in hell because some engineering forgot to protect the weak engines from drone. Who now every tank is non combat in a single hit.
Crew survived ? Good thank god. Still 3 or more millions wasted.
Hmmm… did you watch the vid ?
Crew survived and there was 2 bradley against 1 t90m.
Pretty good fight
Tell that yourself, didnt say this is better then this but sure go ahead and start put word i didnt say.
Bla bla this better than this but at the end both have same loss results.
You do realize all tanks designed during 70’s-90’s which where drones weren’t even a thing remember?
Also if you get shot from back or getting attacked by drone then you did something very wrong.
You can replace the tank in a month with war time working while replacing crew takes more then years, that’s why military cares more its crew rather than their armored vehicles or jets.
Which is why I praised T-90M despite having major weakness compare to other modern MBT’s but still loosing a gunfight against lightly armored targets is quite funny.
By using that logic base MiG-29 and F-16C Block-50 are also basically the same considering both of them got shot down during real life engagements.
February KDRs [meaningless stat on its own, but better than win rate]:
140,000 matches, 3.13 KDR: T-20.
189,842 matches, 2.45 KDR: KV-1E.
202,789 matches, 2.45 KDR: Ho-Ri Production.
127,229 matches, 2.27 KDR: Sherman III/IV.
489,624 matches, 2.17 KDR: Maus.
Greater than 100,000 matches: 1.74 - 1.87 KDR: Tigris, Chi Nu II, and Tiger II 105.
357,996 matches, 2.07 KDR: Tiger II SLA.
189,362 matches, 1.95 KDR: OF-40 MTCA.
459,919 matches, 1.94 KDR: Somua SM.
330,000 & 417,000, 1.91 KDR: T58 and SAV 20.
SAV 20, Maus, Tiger 1 and 2, OF-40 MTCA aren’t OP vehicles yet have high KDRs among thousands of players.
So far, it appears the BR increase of BMPT is doing its job when skilled players are “only” managing 1.51; Now, whether that is the case universally or not… dunno.
Besides bringing them to 12.7 and losing their teams matches, at 11.3 they seem to be doing okay. Not amazing, not bad.
So at this time, I have no opinion on the matter.
My entire post contains zero takes besides the talk about “aren’t OP”.
Which is why NATO tanks has better reverse speed, they can easily get back into cover while facing their main armor to enemy units which something current Russian Tanks lacks.
Thats where jammers awareness and battlefield managements comes in handy.
Compare to wars that Russian went I’d say NATO has much higher success ratio than Russia.
Yes. Very much so. It is a case of Leopard 2s and Abroomzes, very good machines, played by waaay below average players, but still managing WRs and K/Ds way above average (some at least, some cannot be salvaged at this point).
There is no fun to be had when playing the BMPT, and there is no fun to be had when playing it either. I have it, when I try in it, and I mean it, games end quickly, are bottomlessly boring, and in general it’s not fun.
I used the BMPT-72 to grind through the whole T-90M line, from the T-72B, all the way to the T-90M, did it in about 150 matches give or take.
It is also an insanely popular vehicle, so much so I still sometimes see lobbies that are 10x BMPT/72, and like 2 other T-series, multiple times a day.
I thought IT COULDN’T get worse when they nerfed the Leopard 2A7V from its “you shot me? don’t care, spall liner” state of surviving 10 hits and getting an orange crew member, nah, BMPT brought those memories back to me.
“BMPT has very good stats, clearly something’s wrong”
“Oh no that’s normal just look at this completely irrelevant other vehicle”
Technically speaking, this is also the Special Pleading fallacy, you made an exception by bringing up how the French perform well, and thus mudding the waters, shifting the goalpost from how broken the BMPT is - which, yeah…
I struggle to share this sentiment as my personal experience playing it was awful and the weaponry just can’t kill a ton of stuff you face. I would much rather have a main cannon.
It’s not bad, but I don’t think it’s op anymore at 11.3.
