BMPT/72 BR Topic

Yeah, players must be sandbagging the BUK so hard in order to not get it nerfed lol.

It’s super balanced. Came across this guy the other day. The stats are mind blowing.

Has anyone noticed that the autoloaders on the T-90M and T-80BVM are positioned almost entirely behind the frontal plate? Their projection in the X-ray view is extremely small.🧐

Wow, whoa there, easy friend—it’s just a game, no need to get so worked up lol. Let some people keep fantasizing and role-playing in-game; after all, everyone knows what Russia’s military is actually like in reality.

A friend of mine once punched his computer screen over this game, and I’d hate to see you follow in his footsteps.

I’ve come across a line that goes: “Billions in anti-Russia propaganda isn’t as effective as one round of War Thunder.”

Wow, bro, that’s a pretty novel take.

To be honest, I’m a little jealous you found happiness here. It’s been a while since I’ve felt that way from a piece of art / creative work, non-ironically.

I do agree with that. I dont agree that its bad

And i play it to grind the event now, lol.

They surely are. It wields 8.7-style APDS instead of 10.3 APFSDS, and the ATGMs found on it can be also found on T-80s.

Ive in recent time, when the Terminator released and after it getting heavily nerfed, noticed that there deffinetly are some armor and values that gajin dont make know about the tank anywhere.

Recently aquiered The M1 KVT, so just a basic 10.7 abrams, its gun and ammo are already quite bad for its br, especially now that 10.7 constantly uptiers to 11.7, but i noticed that the 105 with its best round, couldnt pen the bmpt lower front plate, even tho i was sure it could, so i went into protection analysis and tested, indeed, i can penetrate the lower plate with the 105 at 200-400 meters, and do meaningfull damage, but in game, its impossible to pen it?

Why cant i pen the lower plate in game? But can effortlessly do it in analysis within the same conditions?

Has anyone considered the kind of dominance the BMPT might have in War Thunder’s future infantry mode?

Perhaps the BMPT is Gaijin’s way of making the Russian tech tree “great again” in that mode, with the current situation just being a side effect. Just think about it: its powerful firepower could suppress most tanks, IFVs, and infantry at close range, while the dual-layered ERA on its sides could withstand infantry rocket launchers…

In future infantry modes, vehicles probably won’t be limited to just tanks and IFVs, right? (Any test participants care to clarify?)

To be fair, the vehicles SUCKED against infantry. You’d have to get even direct hits with HE rounds to “knock out” infantry so high ROF will be king there.

That even happens with the 120mm M829A2. Welcome to War Thunder where they break things, acknowledge it broke and won’t fix it for YEARS.

But doesn’t the BMPT’s autocannon already have a high rate of fire? It’s certainly much higher than the autocannons on NATO IFVs.

You might have forgotten, the BMPT also carries two grenade launchers and reliable ERA. Therefore, I believe it would be an extremely difficult task for infantry to get close enough to destroy a BMPT. Even if infantry used kamikaze drones, the attack might still be defended against by the ERA on the BMPT’s roof. I’m convinced no player would want to encounter a BMPT in the infantry mode.

It would be serving its more REALISTIC purpose, why it was made a “Tank Destroyer” is anyone’s absolute guess, but I surmise you’d sooner have a seizure before a compelling argument could be developed, this thing was meant to protect actual MBTs from infantry.

it feels like you should be able to ammo rack the bmpt. am i stupid for thinking that shooting through 4 blocks of ammo would result in exploding the ammo?

Only the ammo in the hull kills it. The ammo in the Turret has a blowout panel like feature

Devs think the external belt is not connected to the rest of the ammo. If they think like this, they should make it a ready rack system to it can only fire the bullets it has outside then wait to reload. It’s a stupid decision but at least hull shots works if only the model was fixed.

Yes because you obviously haven’t heard of Russia’s new ITP (Internal Teleportation Protection) system. It’s why there’s an internal and external belt.

It was possible when BMPT day 1. But hours later russian whiners made Gaijin to change it.
