Yeah, bug fixes in the most recent update said nothing about ammo belts and it’s still working as expected.
They can,but most times they don’t. The 2S38,for example,is 10.3 in RB and 10.7 in AB but you’ll see it in Top Tier just like you see it in RB. The BMPT and BMPT-72 have the same BR across modes, and so do 99% of the tanks they face.
Only because they have different core mechanics,it doesn’t mean they’re inherently different. You’ll still fight with the same methods you fight in RB
Never seen Gepard with atgms, or stoping sabots. Also a gepard has only 40 apds rounds…
Heat is useless against ERA right?
So making composite immune to a 105mm dart seems … goofy.
But like I said, I’m not at that rank yet. And from what I’ve been reading, I don’t have much of an incentive to go there. WW2 vehicles are probably where I’ll stay.
ERA has some protection against kinetic ammo like the sabot. But I dont think its that good IRL as it does ingame.
They are played out differently.
Comparing RB and AB is illogical.
Unless it’s a tandem warhead yes,it is useless
It is not. Firstly, you picked probably the worst 105mm dart the game has (it was sadly nerfed unhistorically 2 years ago). Composite armour exists because it lets you have a strong KE and CE protection without building a massive 700+mm thick steel plate to achieve that. Different layers of different materials, each one with its own properties, with different thickness angles and distance gives you plenty of protection.
For example: the T-72A UFP is immune to the M735,but if you take the DM33 (which pens more than 400mm at 100 metres),the shell goes right through it. It’s all a matter of “how the armor is composed Vs. what shell i’m using and at what conditions”
It depends on the ERA. Kontakt 5 and Relikt are quite strong against darts because their flyer plates are very heavy and they use a quite potent explosive type, making the dart extremely weak upon contact with the real armour. The M829A3 was created specifically to defeat Kontakt 5 and rumours around the M829A4 states it can defeat Relikt as a whole because the round is also firing a precursor shell to preemptively fuse the ERA.
The downside of such ERA is that infantry can’t operate close to a tank because if a ERA plate activates, you’ll be dead either by the explosion or by the heavy ahh flyer plate going against you
What about like 30mm sabot bushmaster, with one shot the whole ERA block should be destroyed, why ingame this does not happens? you need many sabot shots.
I can argue that some tanks can’t be played in AB and vice versa, but they’re very few and they don’t make a relevant statistical case. It’s tiring to hear this discourse to convince that AB is worthless
Sabot doesnt necessarily destroy ERA on impact. Especially modern reactive armor
doesnt the era detonates itself from the impact?
It depends on the force of the impact,if the impact is too weak the plate is not activated but rather punctured,i.e it still works fine
For the most part yes but sometimes sabot (thin metal rod basically) might be not enough of a trigger for ERA to detonate. The stronger the impact the higher the chance for ERA detonation so in case of Bushmaster it might simply not have enough punch to it
Theres armor components under the frpnt plate you can only see in xray.
Internal + external armor layers + angle
I looked again at the M1 - BR 10.7 - and it does not show the DM33.
Even the M774 (a Tier 4 mod) does not have a good chance of penning.
Oddly enough, the HEATFS round has the (relatively) best chance against the flat UFP. But that is a relatively small window of opportunity - especially on a moving target.
DM33 is German, found on 105mm and 120mm guns of higher tiers
yeah it might not trigger it to detonate
but in that case the ERA wont effect the dart
in game the ERA will always effect the dart even if it is not destroyed
Thats because its still kinetically stopping the projectile
