GHPC will eventually catch up the War Thunder but as of right now. This BMPT BS (which I don’t mind needs fixing for balance) needs attention. It’s like watching Intel fall to having nothing when people warned them AMD is coming and coming quick. Makes sense while Gajin keeps releasing new games instead of fixing what they already have that works.
Hard balancing Russian tanks without ERA, I think if they made it realistic where it actually isn’t as good it will kill Russia as a nation in game.
I mean yea, as I said - you caught him with pants down.
were it not for that rock, he would absolutely demolish you before the second round got loaded like i demolish bowl of cereal late at night (its like a velociraptor goring a pig).
im not entirely sure if shooting at that exact same angle but lower would change anything, you woud either still hit the ERA + fuel tank combo or the round would be too low to do any substantial damage.
Wasn’t that the thing where on the challenger 2, they think the protection values are from the side of the armour?
Ie, when the panel is mounted on the side of the tank, it would have to be shot from the front or back of the tank to get the actual correct values whereas in reality those protection values should be from a 0 degree angle firing directly into the panel.
They also think the plate the panel is mounted on to is included in the protection values, when that makes zero actual sense as the panels don’t come with those mounting plates, they’re vehicle specific and the protection values come from the manufacturer so how can the mounting plate possibly contribute to the stated values?
I may be mis-remembering but I recall this being a huge nerf with zero logical sense.
This leads to the side armour dramatically underperforming.
that was with the ERA which was rated to withstand 30mm at certain distance at certain angle where it didnt travel through the entiriety of the ERA block, but gaijin, in their infinitive wisdom, decided that protection value was at 90° angle impact traveling through all the layers.
That was it, along with the mounting plate shenanigans they pulled.
I’m still salty about the games they played with the challenger 2. The reworked damage model on the dev server was way better but they just memory holed it and gave us the same old crap sadly.
Christ, they can’t even be bothered the correct damage model on what they call rhe challenger 3, still uses the pre-rework challenger 2 model if I recall correctly.
@Lambda_Delta
GHPC said they’re never going to implement realistic controls for tanks.
After that, I ignored the game on Steam cause they prefer arcadey clunky controls over being compared to War Thunder.
GHPC never wants to be as realistic as War Thunder, and that’s their self-admitted priority.
Gaijin publishing is not Gaijin Entertainment the developer that only works on one game.
DCS is also getting left behind in air compared to War Thunder. Especially since DCS is an unoptimized mess not made for non-HDDs.
I like that Gaijin is impartial. Despite their self-admitted love of Sweden, they screw up predictably and for all tech trees when something entirely new is added.
After all, T-58 is OP and still hasn’t budged. M10 Booker is 1.0 BRs below its equals, and hasn’t budged.
About 20 - 30 OP vehicles in the game, and people focus on the one Soviet one.
