They should be from front but ingame they aren’t thanks to the armor holes.

BMPT is never going to be “balanced” it is one of those vehicles that has mediocre fire power vs cracked survivability, to it will annoy anybody that plays it by not being able to get straight up kills and it will annoy everybody that fights it by being hard as hell to kill and constantly disabling them.
Having both those playing it and those fighting it equally pissed off at it’s performance is probably the closest thing to balance we can hope for.

well yeah? you get slightly worse missiles and no darts but you have an extra gun and more missiles so there kind of even
Missiles are much worse and darts are just infinitely better.
an extra like 20mm of pen “infinitely better”
and you get 8 missiles due to the ammo box so it cancels out the worse performance of them

you get slightly better pen for angles or 2 rapid fire 30mm apds that can do some bs

BMP-2M also has a rapid fire autocannon with significantly better pen.
it has 1 less rapid fire cannon with a small 19mm increase in pen
BMPTs can only shoot one cannon at a time with the same fire rate as 2M.
doesnt change much when you can overheat or run out of ammo on 1 gun and switch to the other at will
You’re still firing a 7.3 APDS prone to shattering
or ricocheting into some random place and nuking the crew or disabling the tank (or just taking the barrel out instantly)
Shatter is different from ricochets.
APDS isn’t APHE to nuke the crew.
