The IRIS-T outperformed the original Pantsir from the moment it was added, and it still does.

Yes, it’s still the fastest, but after the introduction of multi-vehicle SAM systems, it clearly isn’t as effective anymore.

and between its release and release of multivehicle spaas, it was basically uncontested.

Of course, that’s assuming the SPAA player isn’t completely clueless and can actually press one button to shoot down an Kh-38.

and that server tick rate doesnt screw the intercepting missile over by fuzing behind KH38.

im assuming you wanted to respond to R-27ER with this instead of helis, and if so, up until now Phoenixes were 17G missiles. All they had was range.

R-27ER on the other hand basically forced the multipath meta back then.

if you wanted to respond to helis, i fail to see the comparison. Vikhrs to this day have no equivalent. sure meta moved, but these missiles killed heli pvp.

but thats why i said “on release”. On urban maps, there was single NATO tank that could go toe to toe with BVM, STrv122A, and back then it had much worse sabot.

not to mention relikt bags which can stop point blank DM53 at perfect angle, which recently got buffed

It was actually nerfed after release. In direct opposition to the reports that were accepted to buff it (still not fixed after 3 years)

But yes, pretty much the only reason it was good was because you could exploit the range advantage as people just tried to use MP all the time still use to it being 100m and they had no idea what notching was

Pantsir S1 is a free SPAA, so the stats are deflated.
Not to mention it still is better on a practical sense, this is clearly seen in things like SQB pre-SM-SV

That thing underperforms so hard in game, mostly because of problems related to all fox-3 missiles, but also because Gaijin decided it would be a good idea to give it the drag of a washing machine with parachute attached to it, not to mention a lack of lofting, even compared to shorter range (IRL) peers like CAMM-ER

Aster-30 is dangerous under 20km, an area where most SPAAs are dangerous, and Pantsir SM-SV even more so.

The only AA with long range performance is Buk and somewhat type03 (although far less)

IRL Aster-30 would be too, being a bit halfway between a patriot and medium range SAMs like IRIS-T (Which Type 03 or Buk are)
With Gaijin modelling ? It’s a radar guided IRIS-T, but with an insanely long battery time
It will limp to 90km in game, but not anywhere as fast or as high as it should

Buk compared to SAMP/T has :

• can’t be killed in one shot
• higher explosive
• fast during most of its flight time
  Pays for it with :
• Slower scan (matters little because of instant refresh PESA on launchers)
• VLS that have to rotate

Yet somehow some russian mains still considered it underwhelming, so what conclusion are we suppose to draw here

You have to be batshit insane to consider any other AA remotely as powerful as the SM-SV.
The pantsir S1 at 12.0 was already one of the strongest SPAAs even after the addition of IRIS-T SLM and friends.
SM-SV is that but with almost everything improved

And even with irst off, majority of planes cant recognize s1 and sm tracking band with rwr. Biggest use of irst is to get rid of tws switching to random targets and even allies.

James strat has a time and place.
It’s not a “one shoe fits all” strat

You’re asking for exactly what I was calling for back when it arrived on the December 2025 dev server I wanted it at 11.3 or 11.7 with APFSDS to use alongside the T-90M and T-80BVM, but Gaijin put it at 10.3 instead (farming nukes with it was amazing).

M1A1 HC (it is only fair to compare TT vehciles) - 1.04
Clickbait (but lets see premium anyway :) ) - 1.16

Win rate:
BMPT - 53.6%
Ariete(11.7) - 50.6%
M1A1 HC - 48.3%
Clickbai - 50.1%

I may miss something but…where is statistically significant difference? If anything BMPT has noticibly higher winrate.
BMPT does NOT need an APFSDS belt.
Posts like this are one of the reasons devs don’t read forums often.

I 'm sure these exact same hits would have destroyed it before the patch. Can this be because of the side-ERA buff, but if so, it feels seriously broken right now.

Before anyone hits me with “skill issue” I know how to fight BMPTs xd.
T-90s and T-80s are popping as usual.

Didn’t feel any difference, it always managed to sometimes eat side shots, and if angled it was always guaranteed to eat a shot, just aim below ERA whenever possible.
