The ERA “buff” [not a buff] does not impact flat protection at all, its angled protection is still a fraction of the front ERA angled protection.
The ERA itself [we’re not talking overlapping plates, tracks, server errors, etc] protect enough to dissuade 105mm DM23 from penetrating when shot at about 60 degrees.
However, 105mm DM33, and 120mm DM23 have enough penetration to go through when no other errors occur.
At 10.7 there is an issue with Leopard 2A4s and Abrams being weirdly BR’d for the rounds they have. Hyper-mobile, semi-protected MBTs.
At 10.0 - 10.3? M829A1, KE-W, etc exist on lesser armored systems, easily deal with BMPT when first shot is allowed by positioning.
Challengers are lucky, they get L26, so any errors there might be with overlapping plates, servers, etc aren’t impacting L26 as they are with 120mm DM23.
The premium BMPT doesn’t suffer overlapping plate issues cause it doesn’t have those weird triangular ERA casings, which also reduces the premium’s angled protection.
The tech tree one is more likely to experience favorable errors, and these errors favor every tank with complicated multi-plate protection.
Not every nation is the US, there are various other nations at 10.7 with worse or better calibers. Challengers at 10.7 are amazing with limited mobility they pack a punch even with their premium lineup. Japan has the 4 sec reload but struggles to penetrate the BMPT reliably and Abrams at 10.7 forget about it. Most of these tanks including Sweden Christian 2 have very light armor compared to BMPT spam. At most, I would say BMPT 72 can stay at 11.7 with 3 crew vs BMPT with 5 crew should be at BR 12. The ERA buff isn’t the worst thing in the world for certain calibers but for most nations. BMPT/72 having both spall and ERA facing 10.7 is just criminal. I already am upset the T58 is a freaking monster for it’s BR grinding Britain and realizing BMPT being able to be seen at 10.7 is just downright criminal.
Also get rid of the gooner wallpaper man, have some self respect. Don’t descend to the level of deprived minds its already bad enough as it is.
Dude, people can have a woman avatar with only ESRB E thoughts in their mind…
It sounds like you’ve witnessed too many awful statements.
Also, I haven’t had a reason to touch 10.7 in probably over a year at this stage. BMPT certainly wasn’t the reason why, but its armor doesn’t make Leopard 2A4s an interesting option.
Of course 10.7, there are at most 4 11.7s on both teams, and if the enemy has BMPTs while my team had 11.7 MBTs instead, it doesn’t bode well for their team.
I remember when I would bring 6.7, a Maus would spawn on my team & I’d give it general support.
Before dispersion changes BMPT was still menace even at top tier due to combination of High ROF, insane survivability and protection.
With new changes it became more or less balanced, what they needed to was to rework on survivability and armor instead of making 30mm’s basically shotgun.
BMPT’s current state is with those dispersion changes included.
Nowadays you’re spraying and praying in hopes you’ll hit something of value.
I’m fine with making eastern 30mm autocannons into a shotgun, as I doubt they should be laser accurate anyways. I doubt that BMPT-oriented rework is coming anytime soon.
Changes became alive couple days ago so it’s really hard to say how much it effected these vehicles, one thing for sure low skill players will not be able to hold W anymore.
I also don’t expect them to be as accurate as laser nor Western autocannons but it seems Gaijin took it further than it suppose to be.
I can’t say it’s made much of a difference from my point of view.
You can still dakka someone’s track from a decent distance away and have a very fast ATGM in the air before they’ve even had a chance to work out what has hit them.
At closer ranges where the BMPT is best the dispersion isn’t a massive handicap. Only this time - you can potentially send 2 ATGMS into the face of whatever unfortunate happens to be in front you.
It still remains almost impossible for someone to kill if you go hull-down. You can effectively lock down a lane or zone if you get the right spot and nothing short of a revenge bombing will budge you. However that’s not likely because said revenge bombing has to duck Panstir SVs…
In other words - no change really. Sort out the damage model and those stupid bluetooth ammo belts.
No, it needs to be modelled accurately- ie the gun should be even more inaccurate than it is now, the Bluetooth ammo belts need to be removed, the god awful era implementation in game needs to be addressed etc.
It’s only fair this vehicle should be modelled correctly given the recent crap gaijin pulled with l27a1 and the Abrams.
The good news is they seem to be dying when their missiles are hit now, but that could just be coincidence.
Haven’t checked the BMPT yet since im focusing on new additions but if the core problem still remains then dispersion nerf shouldn’t be an issue at all.
Which will cause the overall stats to go low even further, BMPT should be played as hulldown position holder despite the dispersion changes, i maintained really good K/D ratio with that tactic and im not planning to change it anytime soon.
As long as core problem remains BMPT will still be an issue.
These are core problems that i mentioned multiple times already.
