BMPT/72 BR Topic (Part 1)

Had a friend notice the sale today and immediatly got the BMPT-72
Don’t think it went very well in the 1st run

Especially if they ended up going against M1s with new volumetric hulls that are mostly invulnerable to your inaccurate peashooter.

Looks like a money waste but it is what it is.

Was BMPT always like this?


I quite shoot a lot with heat in its gun/atgm before update and don’t remember them instakillig it. After update that is already seconde case?

Is it me or did they give the BMPT/72 more nerfs? I haven’t played Russia since I’m grinding USA again and I’m seeing easier to kill. There are times of annoyance but it’s feeling pretty balanced more. I don’t know if all the good players are just grinding the new abrams or something but it’s felt less overwhelming and more fun at top tier lately.

I know they buffed the new abrams turret rings so you can’t get spammed .05 secs and your dead. Maybe it’s the dispersion? How much did they change it by?

i think it went from like a 0.08 to a 0.2? don’t remember
stop it from being a sniper past 600m mostly

you can sometimes kill the BMPT in customs by shooting the missiles and the grenade launcher ammo

Just did a test drive definitely not accurate like it was even at 300 meters. Maybe this is finally it, RIP bmpt sale lovers.

EDIT: Think all it needs is BR 12 and it’s over

BMPTs in this state definitely don’t need to go up to 12.0.

Still needs to be thanos snapped ideally.

Not true, it’s gotten a nerf for dispersion sure but it also got an ERA buff and still has a turretless crew of 5. Regardless that now a major nation has a Trophy system that can prevent LMURs, sometimes BMPT AGMs and KH38s from killing it (thank goodness) the issue is still the same. BMPT needs to move up to 12 then it can die there.

It received a massive dispersion nerf making it way less lethal.

It simply doesn’t deserve to go up there.
Nothing indicates it’s too strong at 11.7.

I think you are overstating the impact, no pun intended, of the dispersal change. Maybe the number looks large on paper, but in gameplay it really does not impact except for pretty far ranges. It still has a remarkably accurate and deadly gun even at range. Definitely not the wobbly gunned, glass-chinned weakling that was removed from the real battlefield. Realistic though, right?

It would be better served to have its turret basket implemented and having its ammunition modelled as one piece like the marder. If they did that it could probably stay where it is.

I just loaded in the test drive and tried shooting at the barrel of an enemy 400m away.
Dispersion is really noticeable even at that range, with rounds hitting all over the turret.
At 600m, rounds are now hitting the UFP and even LFP regularly and in some edge cases, they even missed the tank completely.
At 800m, hitting modules you’re actually aiming at is nothing more than a lottery.
At 1200m, you’re lucky to even hit the vehicle.

So yeah, the gun is far from “remarkably accurate” at any range that’s not point blank and that 7.3 APDS round is only deadly to light vehicles and non-angled sides of MBTs. Nowadays, it’s offensive capabilities are nothing special even at 10.3, let alone 11.7.

That Stats include all-time i.e. also the time when it was lower BRs.

Check again with last Month…Centauro II (P) is performing better…
