Scuttling wasn’t done to “prevent capture”, it was done to save crew.
They used a different damage model than WT’s.
how does that work?
Iowa has a kill. Richelieu doesn’t have a kill but scored several hits, which despite what you may believe does constitute a combat record.
But really, who cares?
BTW your source doesnt happen to be the cameron expedition? because that is saying something completly different XD
In addition to the hit from POW which flooded a boiler room and an electrical switching room behind the thikest part of the protection, a 14 inch shell penned the 350mm thick conning tower from range… but for some reason it couldn’t pen the 320mm main belt from point blank? Sure Sure
The wreck literraly contradicts you
How does sinking your own ship help to save crew?
best battleship ever made tho right?
“And the silence of the sea is about to drift into a storm
Sign of power, show of force
Raise the anchor, battleship’s plotting its course”
to be fair 4 lancasters crashed before they could take off with the bomb cause how big they needed to make it
yeah the turtle back armor scheme is stronger the closer you are plunging fire negates the turtle back
which was was patched with canvas and bedframes
Came here to say this. Gonna ignore the heavily debunked wehraboo stuff to simply back this- these ships the devs are adding are beautiful, all kudos to the people who slave away modeling every fine detail on these gorgeous machines of the war at sea. But I, and many other veteran naval players, are not going to be playing, buying, or using these ships, or playing Naval at all, until the actively destructive and skill-reducing changes to the aiming system are reverted.
Have you tried realistic battles? If you want more realistic aiming then that’s probably the place to go
Its is fine by me and much better positions you as a ship captain than someone in the gun director room.
From now on I will just be posting my previous responses to “just play Naval RB” :
I guess you have not heard that turning even slightly left or right absolutely destroys the “auto aiming”:
Quote from the post above:
So, again again again, no. Naval Arcade Battles are ruined, and I simply do not like playing Realistic. Thus, until Naval Arcade aiming is reverted/actually fixed (ie, manual control), I will no longer be playing Naval again. Ever. /sad 😭
Problem of the final generation BBs is that they were all overshadowed by CVs and a mass of submarines in terms of contributions in WW2.
Hence why most US BB is usually deployed for shore bombardment and landing suppory instead as it became apparent that CV are the future of naval warfare
Even when taking a look at Yamato, she only score a single kill, and that was against the escort carrier Gambier Bay that was already crippled prior. So the fact that Bismarck somehow managed to sink Hood which just so happens to be the largest of British capital ship is the reason why she got the reputation she currently has, deserved or not.
Yes, I’m more than aware. But I ask again, who cares? How is it relevant?
I know a broken clock is right twice a day, but I’m not going to sing its praises just because it is right 2 seconds out of 86400.
I do not care that Bismarck scored a lucky hit on Hood. She is still (debatably) the worst design out of all of the new battleships. That fundamental will never change.
Are some people too harsh on Bismarck? Yes. But that comes along with the severely overinflated reputation. (Thanks, England) I seriously doubt that anyone would treat Kirishima the same if she had been prepared and blew South Dakotas magazine.
Glad you are happy with it bro 👍 I was not rude to you, too bad you felt the need to be rude to me. Cheers.
