Bismarck: The Iron Chancellor

yeah the turtle back armor scheme is stronger the closer you are plunging fire negates the turtle back

which was was patched with canvas and bedframes

Came here to say this. Gonna ignore the heavily debunked wehraboo stuff to simply back this- these ships the devs are adding are beautiful, all kudos to the people who slave away modeling every fine detail on these gorgeous machines of the war at sea. But I, and many other veteran naval players, are not going to be playing, buying, or using these ships, or playing Naval at all, until the actively destructive and skill-reducing changes to the aiming system are reverted.

Have you tried realistic battles? If you want more realistic aiming then that’s probably the place to go

Its is fine by me and much better positions you as a ship captain than someone in the gun director room.

From now on I will just be posting my previous responses to “just play Naval RB” :

I guess you have not heard that turning even slightly left or right absolutely destroys the “auto aiming”:

Quote from the post above:

So, again again again, no. Naval Arcade Battles are ruined, and I simply do not like playing Realistic. Thus, until Naval Arcade aiming is reverted/actually fixed (ie, manual control), I will no longer be playing Naval again. Ever. /sad 😭

Problem of the final generation BBs is that they were all overshadowed by CVs and a mass of submarines in terms of contributions in WW2.

Hence why most US BB is usually deployed for shore bombardment and landing suppory instead as it became apparent that CV are the future of naval warfare

Even when taking a look at Yamato, she only score a single kill, and that was against the escort carrier Gambier Bay that was already crippled prior. So the fact that Bismarck somehow managed to sink Hood which just so happens to be the largest of British capital ship is the reason why she got the reputation she currently has, deserved or not.

Yes, I’m more than aware. But I ask again, who cares? How is it relevant?
I know a broken clock is right twice a day, but I’m not going to sing its praises just because it is right 2 seconds out of 86400.

I do not care that Bismarck scored a lucky hit on Hood. She is still (debatably) the worst design out of all of the new battleships. That fundamental will never change.

Are some people too harsh on Bismarck? Yes. But that comes along with the severely overinflated reputation. (Thanks, England) I seriously doubt that anyone would treat Kirishima the same if she had been prepared and blew South Dakotas magazine.

Glad you are happy with it bro 👍 I was not rude to you, too bad you felt the need to be rude to me. Cheers.

Its beyond me that Yamato and her accompanying vessels at Leyte Gulf didn’t had more success vs. the screening force. Hard to understand. If I remember correctly Nagato was also with her and a heavy japanese cruiser.

And yes, surface action groups had just huge impact during first half of the war. Especially Norway and early Battle of the Atlantic. Mediterranean, too. Then it was mainly subs and air power. The tonnage sunk by these is staggering, for a fraction of the ressources of a battlehip.

Well, some people, like me, prefer the new system. I like the ease of aim and hope the rest of arcade gets the same “streamlined and simplefied” treatment.

It would be greate if i could just aim at a target in Ground aswell, with teh gunner makeing all adjustments for speed and distance.

And especially for Air Arcade, ah system that automaticly manages and adjusts the radar and what ammunition is chosen, when i lock a target, be it air ground or see, would be awesome to have.

Arcade should be the place where you, when you play with a controller and No, Weapon Selector and Multifunction menu are not a good solution.

Not to mention that many missel systems, like all the MLRS you can play in ground and the radio controlled missel this changes the most.

I don´t think i have ever seen someone even try the HS 293 guided bombs from the H 177 Greif, because they are practicly impossible to guide to target.

Yeah just eliminate all skill in the game, that sounds amazing.

Right? I mean, geez… if I wanted mobile game-style controls, I would go play War Thunder Mobile or something else similar. Some people just don’t like thinking for themselves and want something or someone else to do everything for them.

Yeah, and even IF they kept in this new “auto aim” system, just let us choose to go back to old Arcade aiming OR even Realistic Aiming option. Which used to work in Arcade, but they even removed the ability to use full Realistic Aiming in NAB 🤦‍♂️

I even opened a ticket about it (RB aiming option being disabled, but still in menu) and the bug reporting managers basically blew me off, didn’t even read my ticket. “Answered” as if I had gone “zomg naval aiming is different!” Nope, not at all what my ticket stated. Waste of time to fill out details when the bug reporting managers don’t even read a few sentences, and just close and block me from responding again.

I even put a VERY simple to understand explanation in the title! They STILL didn’t actually read my ticket: Community Bug Reporting System

Screenshot in case anyone wants to read here and not hop to the report

Give us the choice! Let us choose between whatever aiming method we prefer in Naval Arcade!
As always, cheers Gaijin, Devs, Managers, and Mods. I hope you guys are reading our concerns 🍻

Why is naval arcade more popular than realistic when it is the opposite for ground and air? What exactly is different besides aiming and torpedo spam?

speed of the boats. Maneuverability. All the fun stuff is in Arcade. I’m also feeling confident to say that Arcade is the most popular mode But I’d love to see data that says other wise.
