As shown in the table above, Challenger 2 Black night and Challenger 2 E has the worst stock shell in tier VII 12.0 tanks. The mobility of challengers are also worse than the average level in 12.0 game.
The penetration data of L26 shell at 10 meters is 493mm/285mm.
Should tier VII Challengers get better stock shells?
Is L26 a more appropriate stock shell for Tier VII Challengers?
L23 is Miserable at top tier,
i wouldn’t complain with it being the stock shell when others had HEAT-FS as their only stock shell, but L26 is on-par with other’s stock shells, while L23 is rather pathetic, especially at 12.0
as far as I’m aware there is no other tank in game with 3 different APFSDS shells, only 2
Actually people benefiting from this already get the top L27A1 or at least L26. Only people who recently acquired the challengers are still suffering from the awful L23A1. The new players should not suffer such a pathetic round just because the previous players enjoys the stock APFSDS.
BTW, T-64A/T-72A got 3BM9/15/22 3 different kinds of APFSDS shell.
At least you can research the L26 at rank 1.
I would argue that the worst stock shell is the OFL 120 G1 as you stuck with a shell with only 425mm pen until rank 4.
The grind until rank 4 is just miserable as most of the time you cannot pen the side of Russian mbts with Relikt era.
While i get the question and the need for an upgrade, why are most of the tanks in the chart tier VIII (8)???
Every tier VII (7) starts with HEAT-FS, except SWE and GBR!!!
The JPN and ISR tier VII have to deal with HEAT-FS until a Tier 3 mod.
And as mentioned L26 gives 491mm of pen as tier one, just like the M1A1 with M829. All the USSR Tier VII start with HEAT-FS and a T1 mod 3BM42 with 452mm of pen.
