Best tank to grind British tech-tree

LOL. So quite realistically we can play up to V era, I guess.

ish. I think. You do start to get IR and SARH missiles and the game still cant really handle those well.

Next in the pipe are ARH missiles. That show will be fun!

Anyway I think I limit my regular play to WW2 era tanks (III-IV-V era).

We’ll see. They are definetly needed, too many nations are now dependent on them to get anything even resembling balance withwise to BVR at top tier. (Britain for example) but it needs to come with some pretty major overhauls and new features. The really big one I want ( and I cant beleive its not come yet) is the seperation of Flares and Chaff. Currently they are just treated as “CMs”

Aircraft like the Tornado IDS should have 56 flares and 1200 Chaff, but are limited to 56 CMs because of the massive difference in count (many aircraft have assymetrical flare to chaff counts IRL, but are close enough that they just ignore it)

The thing is modern ARH missile have over 100 km range. Can it be modeled on War Thunder maps?

So do all the SARHs we’ve already got. Its not going to change much ,except for the fact that you will be able to turn away and defend against an incoming missile whilst still “attacking”.

At high alt things might change quite a bit though. Its not until we get far far more modern ARH that things would become an issue with map sizes

(that being said, maps are way too small and have been for years, even in SB)

The game has a realism problem since it’s basically just a mathematical model (as any game) based on simplistic (here’s the problem) assumptions like in the WW2 Ballistics and Gunnery documents. So the pretense ignores some realistic facts like how shells actually behave.
You see this most often if you use HESH, large caliber AP shells, heavy shells, HEAT shells and so on.

Most ammunition doesn’t behave properly since the interaction with armour plates is binary “pen or no pen” without stuff like armour plates cracking or how shells with insufficient penetration on paper can actually demolish thick armour with little problem.

Loads of real and factually proven ways in which spalling or penetration are caused, simply aren’t modeled.

well i mean it doesn’t help when you get loaded with HESH which explodes when hit regardless of whether you’re actually carrying it.

Yep, those HE Darts really dont help

im working on that haha, fingers crossed someone will get back to me on mine

i spoke to a contact of mine who said he’s dealt with something similar, but we can hope.

Also also imma see if i can dig up anything on L31A7 being inert, I do know from my basic searches around the forums its some sort of mix between RDX, Wax(as in, candlewax? not sure) and some other compounds

I am gonna end up on a watch list for this i swear
