Choosing between for where I should invest my time: SU-30SM vs SU-27SM vs SU-33 vs SU-27 vs Mig-29 (9-13)
I know none of these are world beaters, but I was wondering which one has the best balance of flight model, radar, Air-to-Air loadout, and overall performance in regard to their respective battle ratings.

30SM is gonna be better because of radar alone. But like you said, it’s really nothing impressive
I can say for starters that the Su-33 is more worthy than the regular Su-27, as it has better engines and 2 more missiles.
However, if you have all these unlocked, play them and see which one resonates the most with your playstyle and how you enjoy it. You shouldn’t be playing the game just for the purpose of dominating all, as fun as it is, you should be playing the game to find what makes it the most fun in your eyes.
If you like annihlating F-16s in dogfights, grab the Su-27/33.
If you want to do some ace combat stuff, yoink the Su-30SM.
If you enjoy lesser top tier, pick up the MiG-29.
And finally, if BVR and bullying is your thing, pick between the 30SM and 27SM
Thank you! I own them all except for the SU-30SM (obviously ;) and the SU-33. I do not belong to a squadron, so that one is somewhat problematic, but if it delivers anything the others do not, it would be worth getting.
I do not know why, but I like the SU-27 flight model more than the F-15s…of course I still like to fly low and pop to mid height when necessary vice high flight, long launch BVR. I also may just suck at flying the Eagles.
I like my F-16s, but the MiG-29, which should be somewhat similar, seems very sluggish/floaty and lacking some nose authority and general oomph (maybe just me). If it had some zip like the old days, I would love it.
I was hoping SU-30M or SU-33 would give that extra special something. The SU-33’s BR concerns me (tons of uptiers vs ARH shooters I imagine) and the SU-30SM, at least according to dev server forum, sounds like it may be lackluster…hopefully it arrives as a pleasant surprise.
Su-35s…Oh way still not in game. Russian bias i guess.
The Su-33 doesn’t offer much over the Su-27, its pretty much the same with just 2 more missiles. As for BR, it surprisingly doesn’t get much incredibly bad uptiers. In my ~125? Matches in it I don’t think I’ve seen Eurofighters more than like 10 times. I can’t speak on performance of anything other than it though as Russia isn’t a tree I have gone through yet and all I really want out of it is the MiG-29
The Su-30 is very lackluster on the dev, especially post nerf now, and imho I love flankers FM wise a lot, just cause they’re so large yet feel like UFO’s. The Su-30SM though will definitely still be solid on the live, R-77s might be lackluster but they’re good at medium ranges
It’s also worth mentioning, the F-16 is a lot lighter than the MiG-29 is so it explains a bit about how much more sluggish it can feel
I would have hoped that the 2 engines vs 1 engine would have offset that a bit more, but I have not looked at their respective thrust-to-weight ratios. Anyway, thanks again!
Np, also worth noting that a second engine (at least for Russian aircraft) is an extra air intake and twice the weight of one, though I believe a dry MiG-29 with flaps could outrate an F-16

Otherwise it’s still inferior to the current top tiers lol
im playing it right now and its much better than alright, i like it over the f15a, my only qualm is the radar but the hmd makes up for it.

IMO su27sm. Best at high off bore sight fox 3 slinging while maintaining speed above 1000 kph.
