Guided missiles are crucial to modern jet aviation, with different types designed to counter various enemy aircraft. Not long ago, we discussed the best infrared-guided air-to-air missiles, and today it's time to focus on radar-guided missiles — those that lock on a target with the assistance of the aircraft’s radar system.

It’s simple MICA the best (especially for close range), right after that, PL12 which fly like an AIM120 at the beginning, far and turn great, and after that the rest Derby, Darter, R77 which are mid, you can fire them at the gimbal limit from 7-8km head on, they should hit, not guaranteed tho. AIM120 at the very end, you literally f****d up how this missile flies, rarely hitting >20G, while Mica does ~60G (50G max btw), It only goes far, nothing else, pretty useless right now.
Fix how the missile guidence work, missiles do more overload than they have in the stats, for example R27ET did +60G while it has max of 35G, and also, missiles do negative (-)G from time to time which is just hilarious.
Darter is better in most scenarios, good luck hitting high off bore shot with AIM120.
If someone is like 8-10km you ‘almost’ can’t fire at him if you’re flying >90 degrees in respect to him, with Darter it’s possible because unlike 120, it TURNS… if you’re like 80-90 degrees to a guy and ~8-10km Darter will ‘most likely’ hit it or even have chance to hit, unlike 120 which turns like a boat.
and I’m not saying Darter/Farter is good, no. It’s mid, just like I said, but 120 is ‘a bit’ worse. 120 is only good if someone is far away, and that’s it. Closer someone gets, lower your chances to hit him
Good luck hitting HOBS with R-Farter. You’ve never even used an R-Farter, I’m curious as to why you think it’s good? Because it hits 60% of the time at a 5km or under? 0% of the time over 10 km?
