But we and everyone else play this Digital Combat Simulator (yes that is the type of game this is, just like DCS and Microsoft Flight Sims) because of the realism and as closely related to real life physics simulation that is possible within the framework the developers have.
And those veteran players like myself have been following and playing this game since 2013 and before because of the fact it keeps striving for realism in a free/affordable manner compared to dcs and fligjt sim, whilst also being more accessable to those with disabilities.
And there’s many, many realistic features that are with held because they would ruin gameplay, e.g random breakdowns or barrels colliding.
Adding copy paste vehicles is one of those things which should be with held unless necesary.
However it was deemed necessary for what you call copy and paste aircraft many many years ago.
Even in WW2, Nations share aircraft bought as imports. The gaps between br’s and tiers between nations would be far too vast. And some of those issues started to creep in, so when import aircraft could be added like they were irl, they were then added to the trees.
There is nothing wrong with import vehicles in nations.
the Japanese Ospreys never had rockets or even the GAU-17 though afaik, ive said it before, they really cant come regardless

If that is true, then Japan won’t get it. But not because of people complaining about uniqueness.
I’d never thought I’d see my squadron’s bird in a picture using rocket pods, and 03 of all birds

Did you personally work on or around the MV-22?
It’s probably not that useful in game, but who cares, I like it. So absolutely +1
Just to come back to this since we have been told that weapons don’t need to be in the countries arsenal and so long as they are technically compatible then it means that the MV-22B could go to Japan too even if they don’t stock the weapons.
We’ve also seen this with the Thai Alpha Jet getting the a gun that Thailand never bought since the gun fits on other Alpha Jets.
The Osprey in the rocket pictures appear to be test/modified ones and the GAU-17 requires modifications iirc, I mean they surely don’t come from the factory with them
Yes. However many aircraft in the game have been given the weapon loadouts they were tested and shown to be able to equip, even if in general service they are not always modified that way. So in the case of the MV-22, it would arrive with the atg-rockets and the minigun as they are upgrades available to it.
That’s only for stuff that can be carried without modification or with minimal modification, not like the rocket pods or GAU-17 that’s built into the airframe
