The thing is, whether or not Japan has the turret is questionable, let alone the US tested rocket pods
That’s a good argument. But if it’s “technically possible” then I suppose it would be alright.
I guess it depends on what has to be done to an osprey to get the turret working, and what integration was necessary for the rocket pods
cant you put regular rockets wherever APKWS goes?
Most likely, and supposedly some sources online say a Griffin B missile was fired from an Osprey successfully.
if true, would be very cool to see. also, would be nice to see strike drones get some love with new weapons like griffin missiles
i wonder if Griffin C-er would be compatible too
If we get A.I troops and cargo to transport, then this would absolutely slap in heli PvE. V-22 could outrun everything to drop off or pick up troops. Then, we could add helis like the Chinook, NH90, Z-20, or CH53s. They wouldn’t have much use in ground RB because the SPAA is ridiculous past 9.0 but if the devs can add a stealth aircraft with only 2 bombs, they can do this one thing for helicopters.
heli PvE has so much potential to be very fun yet Gaijin didn’t bother to add anything more than the most rudimentary uninspired game mode i have every seen, and its sad how it has been left like this for years now, same with air rb and all the arcade modes. Its this terrible mindset Gaijin has that to keep this game going they just need to add more vehicles and they never bother to look at the actual gameplay to try and make it more interesting, fun and immersive.
Thats what the capture points are Foe Hammer. But gaijin has not increased the amount of points to be captured for the cargo helicopter aspect.
The capture point thing is straight cheeks and only one spawns at a time. It doesn’t help that attack helicopters can still land on it after wiping out all the targets. A true capture objective would be exclusive to utility and transport helis.
I agree, and there should be multiple spawned at a time. With the positive that if attack helicopters help utility/cargo helicopters to capture the points the entire team gets silver lions and rp. But make sure to restrict it just to cargo/large helicopters that can carry troops. Not attack helicopters. (This will though make defining whether the Mi-24’s should be able to capture or not an issue)
I think the Mi-24 should be an exception. Yeah, they can carry troops, but a dedicated transport helicopter can carry way more. So, while some armed helis can carry troops they won’t entirely hog all of the objectives like attack helis do now. For example, the Mi-24 can carry around 8 troops while the V-22 can carry up to 24 troops. Theoretically the V-22 would capture objectives faster. (If more troops = faster capture times like ground RB). Hopefully with the addition of transport helis, there would be more objectives than just transporting infantry. Theres’s cargo missions, search and rescue and EVAC missions that could only be done by utility and transport helis.
If the 2 x AGM-176 Griffin Air to Ground guided missiles are added, it depends what Gaijin would choose for it’s range. If they go for the 20 km range, it should be above 11.3 BR.
yes
Considering it’s speed I would think that would be a good idea.
Just going to leave these here found some pages on the cockpit for the MV-22 from an AGARD report.
A short but interesting read going through the cockpit layout and MFD displays. Also does include from planned improvements which mention a HMS/HMD system and integrated weapons controls for the nose turret gun.
If you want to check it out for yourself here it is:
AGARD Advisory Report 349: Flight Vehicle Integration Panel Working Group 21 on Glass Cockpit Operational Effectiveness (l’Efficacite operationnelle du poste de pilotage en verre)
PDF Pages 156 - 160 for the MV-22. There is a bunch of information about a bunch of other NATO aircraft too, those start from PDF pages 79.
It is fully declassified and approved for public release and distribution unlimited as stated on the front cover. Also stated that it is open access from the NATO Science & Technology Organization site which does itself have the document to download.
If their military used it and it doesn’t dilute either tree, then why not? eg Japan needed CAS, and they got it through Thai aircraft (AV-8S from Spain, F-5A from USA, F-84G from USA, etc.). Copy and Paste can be great for a tree while not taking away from the export nation. Its bad when abused and used to be lazy.
