HISTORY
In the early 1960’s the British Austin, Commer and Vauxhall together with the British army collaborated on developing a new 4ton truck to replace the older and now aging QL series. It needed to have good terrain abilities in addition to be available in both Diesel and Benzine, preferrably it should also be able to be transported by planes. The production of the final variant of this vehicle started in the very early 1970’s around May. The Danish army procured 400x of these and wich were delivered between 1972-1974! These wagons had recieved some small changes as well, as to my understandings were after Danish requirements, and these were ALB valve and 2 circuit brakes for both front vehicle and trailer.

The Bedford MJP2 has in the Danish army been used for very very many purposes, but the 60 first that were delivered were built as Transport vehicle with a 1-axle trailer for the new Danish field bridge M 71. These were very versatile, reliable and mobile vehicles, in addition to be very comfortable to drive by that time’s standard, wich lead to them being in-use to as recent as 2005!

The vehicle did in Danish service come in many shapes and forms, and a smaller amount were used by the vehicle was along with other brands/different vehicles at this time, also used with a 12.7mm quadrilateral cannon of the anti-aircraft battery, for use in close range anti air defence by the artillery units. The vehicle can be seen with the cannon mounted in the image above.

IN GAME
As this vehicle is of quite a newer model compared to the older Bedford QLD, i think a nice placement for this would be at rank 4 with an battlerating of 3.0/3.7, the cannon/machinegun is simply awesome, and the vehicles mobility can not be complained about, so i think it would do great there.

Here is a better picture of how the vehicle would be marked/painted, from a MJP2 in Danish service at the same time but intended for a different purpose
