BattlEye service fails to launch

I get these errors when I launch the game through the Gaijin.net updater, the app running at start.

When I create a link to aces.exe on my desktop, and give it admin rights, the game launches with Easy anticheat instead, and then I can launch the game.

This happend with some recent patch.

Verify integrity of game files.
If that fails, backup your controls [DO NOT FORGET TO BACK UP YOUR CONTROLS].

Then delete all War Thunder installation files and reinstall.

Anything else than nuking my game would be appreciated.

That’s why I started with verify integrity.
If you have Steam that’s done through game properties.
You can start manual launcher and verify game files there as well.

Nuking files isn’t the funnest thing, but when those two fail it tends to be the next option.

I tryied that and its not working, same problem here. I even tryied to completly reinstall WT and still im geting same error.

I did both file checks and even deleted and re-installed the entire game and still have this issue. I can manually launch the game from the exe/launcher but the battleye version through steam fails to run every time.

I also have the same issue and I tried the suggested fixes multiple times it works neither with the standalone launcher nor with steam

I had this same problem I solved it thought i would come let you know its because the EXE is not set to run as administrator.

find the aces_BE file in your steam warthunder file’s and follow this to set it so steam runs it as admin…

Run Steam Game As Admin

i hope this helps Cheers

An easier way to do this is to run the steam launcher as admin, and not do anything to change what exe your game starts. Anything started whilst it is elevated should also be eleveated.

Don’t do this regularly, just once or twice to see if it’ll fix, then go back to running steam as normal.

Also running the exe itself isn’t wise, just let Steam do its thing.

((
Close steam, then use the shortcut on your desktop to start it back up but instead right-click the icon, and Run as administrator.

You can also just stop the game from trying to run as administrator in the first place. It doesn’t need to do so. It just turned it on for some reason on its own.

I found that if you go where your aces.exe is (…\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\War Thunder\win64\aces.exe) and right click on it. This should be the same pathway that you’re seeing at the top of the window with the red X. Go to Properties → Compatibility → Run as Administrator and make sure this is unchecked. If steam itself isn’t running as administrator then it doesn’t have the authority to run a game as an administrator. Unchecking this box and hitting apply worked for me to run the game through steam.

That’ll more likely be a left over change you made at some stage.

And from there I’d wonder what else you’ve got caught in your game saving portion of steam in regards to War Thunder.

You are correct, i doubled back and for some reason my steam stopped launching as administrator when i updated to windows 11, your answer does resolve the issue at hand. my first resolution created the issue of the .exe not allowing steam overlay to do its thing.
