Do earned special task medals roll over from season to season or must they be redeemed in the season they’re earned?
Indeed they only apply for the one they were earned in. Each season you have to grind out the next lot of them.

And until you complete two daily tasks everytime you complete a special task you aren’t eligible to buy another.
