I’ve got Su-33, it sucks. 13.0 battle rating, why? It has SARH missles when same BR F-14 has 6 ARH missles, so when I send my missle and another plane same BR send his missle to me, he can go notch, I can’t, I have to accompany radar lock, he doesn’t. F-14 isn’t only example of better plane this BR, lets have a look what planes 13.0 and lower has ARH rockets(it’s only condition): AV-8B (13.0); F-14s (12.7-13); New F-16XL (13.0); F-16C (13.0); J-8F (13.0) .What’s more, only 40 only flares, that’s why this plane sucks too! Due to late notch after long radar traking you need a lot of radar flares, then in close battle with IR missiles you have no flares left, because I have to bring 40 radar flares instead of 20/20, otherwise you have no radar flares in the middle of a long distance battle. You can say that it has a lot of weapon attach points under the wing, powerfull engines, great radar but it still isn’t for 13.0. IL-2’d play better on 13.0 with ARH missles than Su-33 with SARH. Maybe this plane was made by realistic information but there isn’t any information about it’s battle rating.
F-14B and F-14D better then Su-33? On very specific aspects, not all. I have little experience with the F-14 but I think the usual Flanker airframe is superior, MiG-29 is proof of that. Although you are limited to only semi-active homing missiles, N001K is a very competent radar. I’m not going to pretend that I’m good at the Su-33, lately I haven’t played it and it was of lately that I could fully comprehend War Thunder’s radar. Is a matter on how you apply the vehicle, while a F-14 will be able to lock, launch, desingage and rearm, Su-33 is required to use less common tactics (on the War Thunder player use of strategy and maps) like terrain cover and bottom-up attacks.
This is obvious when Su-33 plot, according to Statshark, don’t go above 1.00 in terms of Kills per Death, these numbers are low in Kills per Spawn. Don’t expect to go out with any airplane and have the same gameplay loop. Su-33 not only have a good radar but also good missiles, you’re probably using the vehicle wrong—the problem here you’re not understanding that Su-33 is not a easy vehicle to use specially for newer and less experienced players.
The Su-33 suffers from BR compression and a bad stock grind, but that isn’t a unique quality and it should remain at 13.0.
