It’s very optimistic of you to expect a unique SPAA, Gaijin may add the Type 76 as a token low tier vehicle but I would absolutely be prepared for the M163 and T17E2 to be direct copies.

game classifies it as a bomber, but it doesnt have a bomb sight so you’re always gonna be using it as a strike aircraft (diving and strafing)
but unlike planes classified as strike aircraft, you’re spawning way up high and not halfway down the map (in ARB)

Some of the daily and special tasks call for desfroying targets using a strike aircraft. Japan is sorely missing some rank 2 through 4 strike aircraft.
This being classified as a bomber in game makes it that anyone grinding through the mid ranks of japan won’t be able to get those challenges done.
Technically if all the SB2Cs in game were declassified as strike aircraft, it would fix that problem with this and the strike aircraft spawn would fix the issue of it being used as a bomber hunter in air RB.

That’s your opinion, people don’t want to spend money on things that are already in the game three or four times over. Some of the most interesting vehicles are premiums, and I’d rather grind a battlepass to get something worth the time (EBR, Aussie centurion) then devs spending resources on a battle pass that has no tangible content, that could be spent on things people actually want, like tech tree content. People don’t want 5 p51s, yet another dive bomber that doesn’t fill any role in the Japanese tech tree or things like that.

It is classified as a bomber and this is important for daily quests due to its requirements.
Japan air has serious disadvantage because of strike craft. This BP could improve this situation for Jap’s fans. Instead, another bomber was added, and there are already quite a lot of usable rank 3 bombers.
Imagine that the Soviets were given another Il-2, while already existed ones are enough.

I have to imagine the battlepass isnt a big revenue generator anymore. I agree that there is not much in terms of unique content within it. I think the last interesting vehicle, at least in my opinion, was the PT-76-57 and the LVT-40. Both great, both fun. But it has felt mostly copy and paste.

Yes, that’s a copy paste, but the SB2C-5 at rank III is great to do the “Destroy a specified number of player vehicles using an aerial bomb with a weight less than 120 kg” kind of task.
