That’s mostly because by that point, they had been introduced over 10 years. 2021 saw the Seafire III. Previous updates to that saw the full reworks of the Mk I, II, V and IX series, going back further, the Seafire XVII and 47, beyond that, the Griffin series were a major addition when they joined the game.
The Spitfire series, like many others, has grown significantly over the history of the game.

Okay. New rule proposal.
Every time Smin or somebody else tries to justify lazy AF additions like this with ‘They were highly requested’ needs to supply a link to a suggestion post that meets a minimum amount of support.

If you wanted links to every comment, video, thread, topic and other medium we review. Well, there is not enough hours in the day :)
please correct me if im wrong, but other than requests for mkVs to go to USA and USSR (would be more correct than the fake LF mkIX in those trees, i cant find evidence for a LF being sent to either nation ever) most suggestions are for variants that are far more than just which flavour of universal wing and if they added the wingtips at factory.
they are for things like the HF variants (pointy tips) or that one spitfire with six hispanos. ive also seen on this forum people asking for clipped wings to just be a modification for applicable spitfires (everything from mkV until the mk22 for whats in game) alongside gunloads for the univ wing

What about the physical model being wrong for a Merlin 66?
Any Spitfire with this here bulge is not a Merlin 66, it’s a Merlin 63 or below.
This includes the upcoming Greek Spitfire, as well as the American and Soviet ones currently in-game.

As we have said already, more variants are always possible too. Thats not what this BP was about though, which was always planned to be the Greek theme and Greek Spitfire.

If you don’t wanna design new models, fine, atleast give a spitfire to a nation that doesn’t have one already such as Germany or Japan (via Thailand)
