Battle Pass Season 19: “First Sample” and Its Warbond Shop!

They just had a really good event tank. FV4030

Yeah when I first saw this tank, I assumed that a BR of 6.3 would be adequate. Now, combining the new datamined information with the simple fact that the Production T-44 should already be 6.3 makes it clear to me that this is the wrong BR for the T-44-85.

Gszabi’s new datamines give us a raw stat comparison that already looks less than promising. Note that comparison of the cannons is irrelevant as they share the same ballistics in-game anyways.

A side-by-side view with the datamined statcard image also helps reveal the glaring new weakpoints and design faults

It seems as though the only thing holding Gaijin back from making it a 6.0 is the presence of the BR-367 APHE shell, of which I would have no problem removing for the sake of a more acceptable battle rating.

It being bad is simply poor Gaijin balancing; as far as tanks go, the design isn’t anything unusable. Besides, I would easily take a “bad” but unique vehicle over a meta copy paste one, although I understand this opinion is generally pretty subjective.

I thought that with the earlier cannon model it wouldn’t have BR-367. But i still don’t think it deserves 6.3

Ok, it doesnt appear to have 138,6 mm guns, but only one gun of this caliber.

Another unique tank and another load of comments complaining despite the SL rewards from the BP being worth it, let alone the vehicles and other bonuses.

People have to undertsand that a BP isn’t just here to cater to their personal interests every time. Some people do play naval. In fact, some people even play helicopters. And some people don’t play tanks. So just deal with the fact, that the free reward isn’t always a plane or tank or british.
If you find nothing interesting, then just skip it for now and see what the next one brings. It only a trivial aspect of life.

I really like how many players decided to trick the “random” vehicle box system, by buying additional vehicles on the marketplace.

Yesterday the ORP Garland became the most popular vehicle and its price increased from 2.5 GJN to 8.5 GJN:

Spoiler

Hundreds of them were sold after the new BP vehicle box was announced.

The situation of Matilda Hedgehog is a bit more complicated, because the vehicle was already pretty expensive, but you can notice similar situation, with the price that increased from 17 GJN to 26 GJN in less than one day as many of them were sold:

Spoiler

The vehicle box is random, but since you can’t get duplicates, if you e.g. only had ORP Garland and Tandem MAI missing, by buying ORP Garland for 2.5 GJN yesterday, you could guarantee yourself to get the Tandem MAI.

I must admit that this is the reason why I thought the devs will never add vehicles with sellable coupons to vehicle boxes.

I know it won’t happen, but imagine one day we’ll have the IS-7 in a vehicle box and 3 random vehicles that can be bought on the marketplace. Suddenly, many players will be willing to pay even 100 GJN for each of these 3 additional vehicles, because then the IS-7 would still be “pretty cheap”. That’s hilarious.

It is obvious that basically no one buys ORP Garland just to play it, after the devs announced the next BP. Players just want to increase their chances (or even make it a 100%, if they own additional vehicles) of getting something they really want.

That’s why the idea of random box itself is stupid. If people go so far as to overpay 5 times for an absolutely garbage vehicle they will never play just to increase the chance of getting what they want, then maybe, just maybe you should let them choose what they want

Or maybe everybody should finally admit that whole markets, auctions etc was bad idea and should never been implemented into the game in the first place

You’re missing the point entirely, this is how money is made
Doing what you suggest would impact income

How many people have bought gjn to buy those shops for example? Or bought gjn ready to buy things
Gaijin now has that money. Allowing people to choose what they’d like from a box would impact that income stream no matter how small it may or may not be

It was actually a good idea though. Right now the system get abused with ORP Garland and Matilda Hedgehog due to gaijin’s poor design, but system itself isn’t bad overall.

And since it’s fully optional, you can just not use it. If you really don’t like it that much, just stay away from it. You lose nothing

Doing anything impacts income. But you know, direct income per player is not everything. Had they made Battle Pass any more appealing i am pretty sure the number of player buying the BP would compensate them well for that tiny loss of income from market fee for those 2 vehicles.

You can’t buy any more than 1 of those crates, so the vehicle being random doesn’t add to gaijin’s income directly in any way. All they get is 15% market fee from people buying Garlands and Hedgehogs. It’s really not that much money in the grand scheme of things.

Players have sold around 150 Garlands within last few days, for more or less 7,5€ each. That gives a grand toral of 1125€. And since gaijin gets 15% of that money, it provides them with absolutely astonishing income of 168,75€.

Let’s be real, this is nothing for company like Gaijin. You could compensate for that with only like 10-15 players more buying the BP. You could probably get this much by adding a cool decal, let alone fixing one of the most frustrating BP mechanics

I don’t know how you get that idea. Every GJN floating into the market is a dollar in their pocket. So if people now buy 8 GJN for a Garland, Gaijin gets 8$ now.

Why do that when same players would pay way more for the T44 in the market?

It doesn’t work like that. Every Gaijin spent on the market by players is technically 1€ in their pocket, but remember player who was selling the item on the market gets 85% of the final price on his account to spend on anything in the game.

It is still in gaijin’s pocket, but if a player buys a tank for 60gjn he got from selling something else, he will no longer buy it for 60€ later on, thus reducing gaijin’s income by what he has on his account in form of Gjn.

Pure income gaijin gets from market is only the 15% fee from each sale.

The remaining 85% also goes back to them in the end, but it cuts down on their potential income from other packs later on. It’s really hard to estimate how much do they actually get from the market, since there is also a possibility that a player wouldn’t buy that 60€ pack anyway if he didn’t have Gjn, but anything besides 15% fee can no longer be considered pure income.

And then again, even if they had those 1125€ as pure income, it’s still nothing for company like them. You could make that up by additional 100 people buying the BP which is close to nothing for the size of this community

Well in order for people to like a bp, the main prize should be somewhat good, and fun to play, while being somewhat unique.

Dude, gaijin makes plenty of money based on how many M1a1 clickbait’s, and F-18s were purchased…

Which costs Gaijin nothing. They got the $ the moment it came in.

As I said before, they rather have those 100 people buy the T44 than grind it.

It isn’t as simple.

And then again, why would anyone ever buy the T-44 from the market? It’s trash. Unless it gets moved down to 6.0 it will have as much value as He 177 or Sholef, which is about as much as the price of Battle Pass, but without any grind what so ever

Because it is a tank, it is russian,…
I don’t know why people would want the Tandem MAI either, but after a while, they obviously do, and pay more for the insurance to get the tandem MAI than for the entire pass.

Besides, how much unused GJN may be out there at the moment? That is free capital you never have to pay back.
