I am opening this thread to discuss the “Against all” challenge of the current Battle Pass, specifically the subrequirement to destroy five player naval vessels using a fighter aircraft; I hope that this thread can clarify specific tactics and offer feedback to the devs.
Firstly, I believe that the naval subrequirement is extremely poorly thought out due to how unbelievably accurate naval AA guns are even before considering proxy-fuse rounds, etc.
Secondly, this subrequirement is made all the more impracticable by the mandatory condition to use a fighter of at least rank 3, which forces players to use vehicles of a certain BR range (~4.0 and above) and so guaranteeing their instant destruction by an early destroyer- or late coastal vessel-'s auto AA guns. In my opinion the naval subrequirement of this challenge should only require a player to use any vehicle of rank 3 in the battle; this would mean that players can take - for example - rank 3 coastal vessels within the 2.0-3.0 BR range without having to contest the usually deadly AA zones of more advances vessels.
Tactics-wise, under the current conditions of the challenge, the most viable option I have employed is to pack an F8F with three naval mines and dive on the most isolated enemy vessel and hope they don’t shoot me down. I also have to hope that they are actually a human player, as destroying a bot (which comprise most of the team in a naval game) will not count towards the completion of this challenge.
So far, I have only attempted this challenge in naval RB, however I think players will find Naval AB a far less frustrating mode to complete this challenge in due to the bomb impact indicator that is displayed for aircraft.
Those are my initial thoughts on this challenge; I would like to read the thoughts of other players, perhaps from naval mains as well as people that only play naval for Battle Pass challenges, so that the community might develop specific tactics that are optimised for this challenge.
