In AB you have a target indicator that shows you where the target wikll be when hte torpedo is expected to ge there… this works quite well vs AI ships - which do count towards the total.
Also many of hte maps have islands with passages between them - randomly throwing torps into those gaps will often score hits.
Basically any Tier 3_ DD can be used to achieve this - Japanese ones are best as they have large numbers of the Long Lance - which is very effective - but others can also have long range and work - eg most German torps have 14km range IIRC.
Can confirm. Getting a map that allows you to face ships at close ranges also helps a ton considering some ships have 15 of them, and the torps themselves will one shot/cripple most ships you face.
