BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

Now that would be a even bigger buff than deci 9l

9M and a dechirped 9L should have the same locking performance, just he dechirped 9L lacks any IRCCM.

and the 9M would be all nations, 9L would be Britain only right?

That is a reason why it would be a bigger buff. Around 6km front aspect smokeless irccm missile

i think only uk dechirped

Just the UK yes.

For both?

Yep

Yep … Even more so than for 9Ls. So not a chance in hell of that either.

So what aircraft would use these Dechirped Lima’s? Phantom’s, Tornadoes, Harriers, and Jaguars? Would the Bucc be involved somehow?

Harriers and Tornadoes for sure, Jag 3 probably too, phantom and bucc idk

So the AIM-9M could be dechirped or am I misreading it?

I think it was standard on nearly all British aircraft.

Yes. Not could, it was. UK had in their planes indicator if the missile is locked so they did not needed the chirp. And removing the chirp allowed for longer range locks

That would be great in headon shots. Imagine what I could do in a Harrier Gr.9.

AIM-9M was a dechirped missile.

So the “chirp” is the locked on tone?

But still it will not happen. Atleast not untill we get longer range IR missiles (i will conveniently ignore R24T and R27T). Then it might get added, and UK things may go up in br.

I will link you something here give a sec
