BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

It’s still going to be in that 1 ton ballpark lighter in any case

And I was comparing it to the NA the harrier 2 with no radar…

i dont think the weight difference ends up being much because the NA has the whole FLIR setup which does add to its weight while B+ pretty much just swaps it for a radar

The B+ has the flir lol

It’s in the same relative place above the radar

i mean the one on the nose

Once again it will not matter. It would still be accelerating.

You might just have the standard drag of the aircraft wrong

And by how much is it accelerating anyways

Did you add 15-20 degrees of nozzle to the drag?

The FLIR is on top the nose on the nose is the ARBS and that weighs very very little compared to the radar

The 8B+ is like 1000 pounds more then the na

Why would I add nozzle to the drag? Nozzle angle will retard thrust. You have provided no diagram for drag with nozzles deflected. You have only provided Mach 0.1 diagram from unrelated study.

.22 Mach actually

And it’s hardly “unrelated” it’s a harrier 1 aerodynamic analysis

It’s the only drag value there is so apply -0.15 drag to 14 degrees AOA and then tell me

the tip of the nose, the NAVFLIR. ik the base APG-65 is 560lb for the full system, but the APG-65Q is quite a bit lighter since its way smaller. so 1000lb seems sketchy since even a full size complete APG-65 system weighs 560lb

The tip of the nose is not the flir my guy

It’s the angle rate bombing system

The Americans took a harrier as a child and feed it nothing but McDonald and said it’s better now

So just to be clear…you want me to reduce the drag coefficient by 0.15? This would mean that the Harrier has negative drag which would be impossible.

This clearly shows you have no idea how this works.

No use a drag coefficient of -.15

No one said reduce

I don’t even know what values you are using broski

weak jab at superior aircraft, you still havent been able to answer how there is a 1000lb increase when the only upgrade was the radar which we know for sure weighs a good amount less than 560lb total

Increasing the drag coefficient by 0.00127 didn’t change the result. Shocking.

Can’t come up with ideas if you don’t tell me the exact values you are using

(Almost like you’re not sharing on purpose)

It’s only superior as a bomber mate

That’s where the pros end

Drag coefficients are positive numbers buddy. Thought you might like to know.

Share the numbers you are using

You’re conclusions mean absolutely nothing unless we can see them all

I already shared the values and you said that they were wrong. You just didn’t read.
