BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

Its likely the maximum airframe speed (including in a dive) has been mistaken for max speed in level flight (though even then, I thought it was Mach 1.15 - 1.2, but could be very wrong on that) . SHPP is a charity, so not a primary source

The AV-8A can hit .98 Mach when clean using only Max thrust rating

The engine is capable of producing 174% more thrust at .6 Mach

They are marginally supersonic

Pretty sure that number could be reached in level flight on a cold day at sea level, at least a cold day in Bristol. The GR.1 did it with drop tanks a few years into its service/development, I mean I have a picture

1.25 is the limit

@Morvran

Speaking of AOA limits seeing as it was hard to find exact values.

The Harrier apparently has no ADD/AOA limitations above 7,000 feet seeing as recovery from a spin was easy but 18 degrees AOA below that.

Last thing then I’v shared all my knowledge.

Harrier 1 is missing 216% of its coefficient of lift

Gaijin modeled the wing only Cl in game meaning that the body lift, intake lift, and thrust/wing/body lift is not present.

A bit like modeling the F-14 to only have the lift of its little wings and not the rest of the fuselage.
