I think the radar also tracks surface targets and that is where the target cross comes from.

yep. I do it that way. because the 3dr person crosshair is not very accurate for the harrier.
bleed an enemy on my tail of all speed by using 60% VIFF and flaps. once they cant turn I get on their arse and go into cockpit view to gun them.

When fully EEGS is added, you’ll get a sight that will correctly tell you where to aim when you have a radar lock. Much the same as you get the Tornado, Gripen, Typhoon and Phantom

The Harriers are just not that good in RB though to be honest Gaijin nuked there performance with the virtual instructor.
you think i use radar? radars kinda dont work at the ranges im gunning people at. its also usually only a half second timeframe at most from when I get my nose on them to me shooting, radar is too slow to keep up

You’ll be stuck with the Harrier T.10 or Gr.7 unfortunately.

At 13:20 he mentions being able to see planes at perfect 90 degrees as in they where unable to notch the radar.
shame. the FRS1 is my CAS plane for 10.7 GRB so it would be really needed.
T10 has been my main ARB aircraft since update and doubt that will change though. there’s basically nothing that’s at its full uptier so its in a good spot
It would be nice if they fixed everything about them but I am very disappointed its taken this long to sort the gunsight and EEGS.
Gunjob said they knew about the issue and here was are multiple patches in and they haven’t even worked on it.
Just did some tests and the HUD is just so far from what it should be they should have never added it in this state.
So the bomb sight its self is still missing basic symbology. Its also just not the correct sight.
It should be an upside down T as the CCIP aiming line.
It should also include a minimum safe release heigh for the bombs splash damage I would assume.
It should also Have a target mark denoting what/where the target is. (This could be linked with the Radar)
In game its the same sight as the air to ground guns.
Next was the Bombs AUTO CCRP release mode after selecting a target point (It just doesn’t exist.)

Finally after all that there is a bug that will force your HUD into bomb sight mode when you try and enter Standard HUD mode is you have dropped all the Bombs.

No read carefully only the gun had the Dimond that’s at least how I read it.
Terminated in a Dimond (AS Guns 2 and 3) OR in a horizontal base marker (AS Bombs 2 and 3) and that one is roll resolved.
So CCIP for guns was Dimond Or if you had bombs it gave the horizontal lead markers.
