I have all my bets on when ECM comes, we get the Avro vulcan as the lead aircraft for the update as it is a literal ECM bus

See… I think it could be this year, the big thing this december, They said in CM chat 7 that there was a number of “modern technologies” they want to add prior to 5th gen jets sometime maybe end of next year.
ECM is one of the few things I can think of for that list of “modern technologies” and about a year ago now, we did have datamines for what looked like ECM pod’s loadout symbols.
So I think ECM should be considered highly possible.
CBUs… God I want them so badly, but I doubt they’ll add them purely because it would mean they would have to make the servers more resiliant and that would cost money
they did say after top tier SAMs that SEAD and DEAD would be being introduced so I put that modern technology description towards ARM, HARM, ALARM, and other anti radiation missiles
Maybe, but given the context of 5th gens. A2G weapons might not necessarily be part of that
Im thinking specific too Tech to add prior to 5th gens:
- ECM
- CM overhauls + TRDs?
- Gen 5 IIR missiles
- Sensor Fusion
yeah makes sense, sensor fusion would be pretty epic, especially for sim where you should be able to have thermal/ nvg overlays in pilot hmds

So I was just doing a battle in ARB after a long time of not playing it. The Sea Harrier FRS.1 seems much happier now with the better planes sucked up to higher BRs but one problem occurred to me.
So have this challenge I need to complete for today, I don’t have to but I enjoy doing them:

Not too hard when I just got a game like this:
Before this 3 kill game I also got a game with a kill on a F4S.
Then I realise, the Sea Harrier FRS.1 is not a fighter. It is a strike aircraft. WHAT THE FUCK GAIJIN! Gaijin even after like 2 years when a bug report was filed for this, they can’t even change 3 fucking lines of code. I know how the system works because I have modded code for Sea Power. Fix you game a small fix that would likely require no effort that you could have gotten an infant or intern to do.

Which one has it better in ASB for A2A, FRS 1 or FRS 1 Early? Is the extra 9l worth the 0.7 BR increase, or is there any other substantial benefit?
I can’t speak much for the Early but it is most likely better as you don’t always have to worry about things like MiG 23s with IR long range AAMs

FRS1e.
Fighting 10.7s in the FRS1e with no gunsight is hard enough, but fighting things like the Mig-23MLD is just a waste of time imo, especially when compared to stuff like the Harrier T10 at the same BR. Heck, even the AV-8S is a LOT better

The T10 has no radar, it’s much less suited for air combat just based on that alone IMO. Guess you are right, I did notice an adventage in 10.7 since I was able to shoot all aspect IR in headons against people that didn’t seem to know if I was an ally or an enemy lol.
Yeah, so makes VID a little harder, but the better RWR, FM, CM loadout, gun, etc etc stacks up rapidly, if/when attacked, you can usually win the dogfight, the FRS1. you rarely can, at least against aircraft like the Mig-23MLD
and being able to do some multiroling in the T10 is actually quite good fun.
no radar honestly makes almost no difference for ARB tbh. However the aden 25 is a worse gun in game, the lack of tracer makes it twice as bad as its much harder to adjust your aim…
The harrier 2 should carry six sidewinders or ASRAAMs too by the way, it should outmatch the shar by a significant amount in every way
