BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

Yeah the 9L gave it a CAP capability and enhanced self defense.

Centerline Phimat was also very useful.

Could Phimat really be carried centreline? I thought it could only go on wings. If I think about it, ig it does make sense it could do that as well as TIALD which could also be carried on the wing

Behold centerline Phimat

Looks weird like that. Is there a suggestion for it on SQV Shar?

Shar never had Phimat.

Yeah, unfortunately its only a Gr3 thing.

The most we can hope for with the SQV getting extra buffs in that department is a digital RWR that would ID the target, would make CM usage a lot more effecient

Wasn’t there a Phimat on a gun pylon as well?

could the jag get it centreline as well? would allow the gr 1 to bring it along with 2 9gs?

No the Shar had ECM. A Blue Eric jamming pod.

The FA.2 got something even better but I don’t remember what it was.

I know nothing about it

Ah. I was more wondering if USMC Legacy Harriers got 9L or at least had the capability there, but I guess that manual was referring to the British Harriers.

Nah, the best they got was the AIM-9H iirc

Huh, very interesting. Guess AIM-9Ls were reserved for the Hornets, Skyhawk IIs, Intruders, etc

Or where only mentioned in other manuals no one has.

I have a FOIA request out on a potentially very interesting manual so we will see.

Oh cool! I look forward to seeing what comes of it!
Also, on behalf of all American Harrier enjoyers: thank you for submitting a FOIA request that will potentially lead to new info!

I also have old info that can already GREATLY benefit the A and C harrier.

Consider me intrigued…

Next round of dev server. 0 fixes or changes that can be observed. CCRP is still broken and no EEGS

Yeah I gave up ages ago, but still like a good rant about my favorite aircraft.

Gunjob said he did a report on it?
