BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

Was looking for the photo you mentioned on google images to post here so people can see it existed but found this:

So if you look carefully you can see in the red outline is what looks like a Sea Vixen radom.
In green is a Shar 2 (but it might be a modified Shar 1)
In orange is a Wessex and in white is a GR.3.
I suspect that the Shar 2 here is a prototype upgrade for a Shar 1 and not a Shar 2

Here is the LERX
image
I have Jane’s Aircraft Spectacular Aircraft: Harrier, and in the book it shows a pic of the GR.3 with LERX to prototype for the Harrier 2

Nah, it’s Tangmere’s Sea Harrier XZ459.
It was in service as an FA.2. The museum just painted in its old Falklands-era paint scheme without converting the airframe back to look like an FRS.1

Sorry, I’m not British and don’t know or have access to those museums, unless I pay like 60 000 Rand for a flight there and back

South African hey

Do you also have performance charts for the Big wing Shar on page 198? That Shar design I know was equipped with a radar capable of guiding Fox 1s but can’t get it added as you can’t prove most of the sources legally without some “trust me bro”

Ja boet

Lmao I don’t speak Afrikaans but my mom does.

Ik that mean ya brother or something along those line though.

Or calling someone Jo is not nice.

I do actually lol.

Some I’ll take a look into it more.

Ja is yes in most European descended languages but I’m very English. I know a decent amount of Afrikaans but not enough to make complex conversation.

Thanks, it could be our only chance of getting a Shar with BVR that isn’t above 12.7

The only sources I have of it was with lrmts though.

go i would cry if we got that. The one thing we are missing is a decent br’ed fighter with sarh missiles. Its pretty stark going from a minimum of 12.0 for sarh missiles with britain to italy or france where you get some fun around 11.3 and even 8.3 (love my vautour at an actually usable br). I find them alot of fun and find it disappointing that we lack such jets.

I’ve been trying to convince people for quite a while that we could get paper Harriers, many of them would be difficult to add to the game and others people don’t want added. There is one Harrier from the Cold War that has some sort of BVR and it actually existed and used the prototype for the Blue Fox

This would be a good contender.

I would love the P.1154 but I can’t bring any evidence that it was planned to also use AIM 7E (maybe even E-2)

I can look around and see as well. They actually created the engine of this plane and a mock fuselage too.

I have already done a lot of research on the P.1154 and his brother the HS.1154
I’ll link the suggestions soon
