what’s this now if i remember right when they had the fa2 on the dev server it had a different rwr.
They changed the RWR for some reason from the right one to the wrong one, but it’s been fixed
hell yeah lol
If only it were so easy… ;-)
I wanna put it here so it can be read and i can get some opinions but I’ve been compiling a lot of data and tests and I’ve come to a sort of conclusion. Buff all harriers, every harrier jets needs to be reworked I would love as much input as possible to help with the data please.
Hey all I’ve got a little question about Harriers in war thunder and wasnt sure where to put it so I’ll go here.
I’m sure a lot of you will know that at low speed when you pitch as hard as you can it does it in bursts of AoA. For example if the original AoA is represented by “a”, you would pull a + 10, then a - 1 as the nose drops a tiny bit after pulling, then might go repeat, a + 10, a - 1.
I dont know if this is making any sense, its 4 am and I’ve barely slept in 3 days but if anyone knows if it should be doing that or not let me know thanks? Or if I’m doing something wrong.
Thanks! Hjnbnb out.
don’t quite understand lol
Okay so like if we do it in the horizontal to draw a better picture, instead of being a circle it would be more like an octagon, it kinda pulls in bursts instead of one smooth motion
Well if you are exceeding its stall AOA then maybe the harrier is pitch stable meaning it will try and head back to neutral after airflow separation. Although it will have incorrect turn rates and radii.
Ive thought about that and I dont think so because its the only aircraft I’ve ever seen do it, except the Tornado but we all know what a mess that is
I don’t know if you’ve seen my little write up on it yet lol but it could be its modeled poorly IMO. I’m currently doing more tests and comparing it with known charts from the manuals for a few different speed and g profiles and I’m consistently getting the same results across the spectrum.
I dont think I have seen it, but the only easy way to recreate this is go to about 400 kph and just constantly pitch the maximum (keybind not with mouse). Even in realistic this happens which is weird, if it was going over the stall AoA then instructor shouldnt let you should it?
no it shouldn’t. odd well link to my report if like a few replies above.
Thank you for what you’re doing and all your help
Thank you for appreciating it. I believe i may have just found the whole answer to this in my last test. I was looking for minimum turn radius in the game by just pulling the stick full back and holding a full 21 degrees aoa almost. I compared this to a NASA graph I found of turn performance and radius chart i have linked. The results from in game and from the graph where almost identical. Here’s the kicker the NASA test was before buffet onset and according to the flight manual that only 10-14 degrees AOA not 21.
Oh dear well it would be nice for things to be fixed
I’ve made a short crappy video with all the details and documents and ill be linking it to my bug report and forum post because of this thing I’ve just seen there’s no way they have it even close to being modeled correctly.
Well we both know it wony be fixed for at least another year
Ha jokes they wont fix it at all. Its not a good selling prem. Maybe if they fix it the AV-8S will sell better who knows.
