Lmao you could easily beat the F-18
i already do XD
I have returned from holiday.
Did the Harrier GR.9 get a RWR that can detect SAMs AND fighters? the GR.7 RWR is good enough for what it was designed for and worked in the Gulf War but it is very vulnerable to air threats
Don’t think so. They were set up for basically pure mud moving
People here said the old Harriers got a flight model fix. But I flew the FA2 and it still handles like a brick.
It now handles like a slightly more dynamic brick.
It’s better but if it’s been a while since you used them it’s going to be harder to tell the difference.
Still lots of improvement to be made.
They got more thrust, which means they retain energy better at lower speeds and regain energy faster, but the FM is still a total mess. @MatrixRupture has a boat load of reports in for the Harrier. We’ll have to see if any get looked at next major update
Though they are now even harder to flare anything in. So be careful. Takes 8+ flares to defeat an R-60M at 3km if you are down around 420 kts
Photos of an Italian Navy Harrier II MM7199 with a triple mount of Typhoon Air-to-Ground missiles next to it (Air to ground ASRAAM variant).
Additionally, traditional ASRAAM and ALARM missiles.
Credit to Flame for noticing the Typhoons.
I wasn’t following the KH-38MT debacle, but why are they in game if they don’t exist supposedly but Typhoon missile is missing?
Is the typhoon mounts able to hold ASRAAM? I’m feeling humorous.
Should go to Britain because it is a Harrier
Typhoon has only kinda just popped up as an idea for addition on this sphere of the forum, I’m sure flame and others had already considered it and I did a bit of looking, I knew it existed personally but not how far it got and AFAIK we don’t know where the programme got to before it was cancelled. Maybe mockups only though we know all the tech existed?
It would be super nice to have though in the short run if that’s where we are going given HAMMERs and KH38MT that would be a nice Eurofighter buff I must admit.
By the looks of it, it’s a LAU-115 (effectively it’s two LAU-127s with a central adapter), and an additional CRL fitted in the middle.
RAAF F/A-18s used LAU-115s to carry dual ASRAAMs and AMRAAMs, and CRL was used to test ASRAAM on Jaguar, and used in-service as AMRAAM launcher on Sea Harrier.
So yes, the launchers would likely have been ASRAAM (and AMRAAM) compatible
Later
It beautiful. Then they went and bought 9X…
