Harrier GR.9A with next-gen targeting pod

But I’m not sure coming to the winter major update this year or the first update 2025

Upgraded to TIALD 400 or TIALD 500 pod ?

I don’t understand why Gayjin hasn’t done this yet besides maybe the usual Anti-British Bias

Any news on the Harrier Gr7 getting its ePaveways?

Finally found a photo of a GR9 with the Jaguar Striker HMCS

“For the final six months, we operated with a Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS). This allows the pilot to quickly identify coordinates on the ground using a red diamond that is projected over it on a reticule placed over the right eye. This is an excellent tool in increasing spatial awareness and takes away the need to spend vital minutes using binoculars to identify features from a map. Equally, in reverse, the pilot is able to look around the battle space and if he sees something of interest, he simply looks at it, designates it using controls on the throttle and immediately the SNIPER ATP will move to look at that same point on the ground.
At night, the pilot wears Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and these are fully-integrated with all the systems, meaning the way we do business by night is exactly the same as during the day, including flying at low level, something the Harrier force is well trained in and extremely proud of.”

From the description it looks like what we have now on Tornado GR.4

Yes GR4 uses the Jaguar Striker HMCS.

Quick selfie while dropping ordinance on insurgents. (This mean we’re getting GR.9A next update?)

Me too :(

GR9a with sniper pod and upgraded pegasus from GR7a? Would also be a good future vehicle to add ASRAAM to later on

All the Harrier 2 are missing a lot on the way of minimum turn radius. Gaijin also incorrectly calculated 50% fuel for the test when it specifically stated 4655 lbs fuel.

Minimum radius of turn in the Gr.7 with the same loadout as figure 10 is around 1830 feet compared to the 1500 or so seen in the E-M chart.

i think its time for the GR9A to come

and prepare it self for ASRAAMs in the future

Its a real tragedy imo that the Gr7 got Aim-9Ms instead of a BR drop and then to add the Gr9A to add something with the Aim-9Ms.

The lack of a Harrier II at a lower BR (like the AV-8B(NA) ) rather hurts the british TT imo and the GR9A is just better suited for being a higher BR

They can still add in the GR.5 and remove the GR.7’s 9M and bring in the GR.7A with the GR.9A (Z something) as the 14.0 ASRAAM machine.

The thing I fear about the a Harrier GR9A with ASRAAM is that it will spend its entire time on the defensive and rarely actually get a missile off. In a gamemode like SB, you will have no way of IDing what you are firing at unless you have visual with the target at which point you have likely just dodged many ARH or equivalent IR missiles.

Something like an FA2 Late that has the radar to couple with the ASRAAMs would be very fun. But I just fear the radar-less life of a GR9 at such a BR. (it already sucks at 12.3 [12.7] )

Just use the Sniper pod for long range ID

Providing it didnt just get TIALD again…

But even then. Doing that is a bit of faff, especially when also defending and render distances are bugyg as hell. in the GR4 you cant spot something much further out than about 20-25km. They become invisible after that (but you can still see the engine exhaust)

If they add TIALD to the GR.9? I’m fairly sure TIALD was gone by then.
