It will still have a 120mm main gun with an autoloader.
As secondary armaments there seems to have a 7.62mm RWS and a coax GAU-19/B 12.7mm rotary cannon. The RWS is also used as the commander sight.
What chassi its based on, its weight and armour is yet not known, but it could be assumed that it would have the 1000hp powerpack and weigh between 26t - 40t, but if we assume its uses the CV90 Mk4’s it could weigh 35t - 40t.
In the back of the tank sits two extra crewmembers, which are there to take care of the things the turretcrew dont have time for, like using UAV’s. These two crewmembers are also trained as gunner, commander or driver.
In the video the new CV90120 has Iron fist APS, LWS and 10 smoke granades, 5 on each side, there might also have 2 extra smoke granades on the RWS.
Just to be clear, a this moment they have only shown a 3D render of this CV90120 version
Doesn’t seem suitable as an anti-drone system, I feel. A 7.62mm machinegun with high elevation and fire rate would be as good. Or a 30mm chain gun. It might be a weapon system to deal with light skin vehicles without using the limited ammo of the main gun.
It seems like the 12.7mm can elevate independently of the main cannon, something like an AMX-30.
So maybe we’re both right since a 12.7mm might be as good against drones as a 7.62mm, but a 12.7mm would still be better against light vehicles than a 7.62mm. So you could have dual purpose potentially?
Hopefully we at least get a prototype soon so we can have a cv90120 that’s ACTUALLY worthy of 11.7/12.0 (i mean come on we have the Sprut with 3BM60 at 10.0…)
