If we think B-52H and Tu-95M are being added after full removal of airfield destruction in ARB.
I think more DOA and less vestigial about this case, but I agree with what you mean in context.
Bombers also had a plan to win.
Yes, I heard about the legacy of the era of the Tu-4 Steamrolled the match.
Probably the Phantom series caused that problem AFAIK?
Spamming rockets to the airfield, and the game crashed.
They didn’t remove it, they couldn’t get it to work to begin with.
Then why bother even adding the B-66B Destroyer at all?
The MD-1A radar was intended to be a major pioneering defensive feature of the B-66B. Helping the already remotely controlled M24A1 tail turret aim more easily against interceptors and rear attacks. Not having it at all and being essentially stuck with the typical manual third-person gunner aim like WW2 era bombers is a huge setback when jet bombers without countermeasures are already easy enough in most game modes to hit and shoot down either with missiles or guns in literal seconds.
They’re still working on the code, and it’ll come when it’s ready.
And now, at this moment, we have a modern B-52H Stratofortress variant added to the game that utilizes an even more advanced dual search and track AN/ASG-2 fire control radar system for its tail gun, before they were eventually deleted from production B-52s after 1991.
It’s impossible to just ‘ignore’ these features on aircraft that are as iconic and well-known as the B-52.
So sickening how bombers in general have been treated for the past literal decade in this game.
Well the tail gun did not come off till the 90s so there is really nothing that is noticeable from the outside. All the changes was primarily inside the the skin.
Yeah but still how do we know fs we have the one that cant carry crusie missile or not seeing as the changes are just internal and not external until the early 1990s
Well by the way things worked in the past there is nothing stopping it from carrying cruise missiles. Before they dropped the gun because of cost to maintain. It was already able to use them.
Really they only limitation is if gaijin wants to add them. You could argue that it is a modern one because of the gray paint job that was only done on the modern ones. But i like that paint job so i don’t want to give gaijin an excuse to remove it.
“No, please don’t ruin ARB for those worthless PVE-loving Zombers who ruin the game and free-ride the match. We need to make them learn how to A2A, not babysitting them.” /s
If Gaijin ever thinks about bombers or Bomber players… I reckon we wouldn’t have been treated like this at all at the very beginning.
Soon™ (Probably takes three years or more)
Or just Gaijin is frightened about those phantoms when the Tu-4 was a death star.
they need to add r-27ep to mig-29/su-27 and their variants to take down these ECM air craft.
130km, 5.8 mach stick of doom that hones in on radar emissions and ECM, yes please.
Why did they add the AGM-84H without proper low altitude terrain following and LOAL? why did they add the AGM-154 without stealth? Why havent they added the ability for the P-61 to lock its turret forward after almost a decade? Why haven’t they added top attack to any atgm that has it other than the LMUR? i can go on all day… If you have followed this game for any decent amount of time you’d know it’s simply because the devs are incredibly incompetent at everything other than making (or outsourcing) 3d models…
The gunner position was remove in the end of 1991. They did not start physically removing them till 1992 and finished the last on in 94. And as quoted i mentioned the paint.
In the 60+ years that the h has been flying because it is still in the process of being upgraded to the j. It has only 3 external changes. Only 2 would be significant to this jet that would put it as possible 90s late 80s.
It’s not a targeting pod, the AN/ASQ-151(AAQ-6 “FLIR” & AVQ-22 “LLLTV”) EVS was initially for aiding navigation, and like the A-7 should correlate with the A2G Radar and are effectively navigational aids for the flight crew to help mange requirements of the Low-level Ingress mission set, which was retired with the fielding of the FB-111A & B-1B.
If you wanted a TGP you’d get the LITENING or SNIPER pods for offensive use.
