Awful stuttering/FPS drops that only occur while playing WT

From the second i launch the game it begins to stutter and drop frames, multiple second freezes occur constantly. the stutters seem to occur at random, not seemingly influenced by action / intensive things going on. game is installed through Steam, verified file integrity multiple times, already cleared compiled shaders to attempt to fix. these stutters only began to occur recently -ish the last couple of patches or so and have only gotten worse

PC Specs

  • Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • 4080 super
  • 64GB ram
  • War thunder is on an SSD
  • Windows 11

Frankly I’m at my wits end trying to figure out what it could be, its only War thunder that has this issue no other game is like this. it doesn’t seem like I’m the only one with these issues at least.

im having the same issue all my other games play great at max graphics, but WT still stutters even at low graphics! this recently started happening to me, not even 1 month ago it was playing perfect so i know its not my PC now it has become a headache trying to fix it.

Heya, I was having the same issue and I noticed a lot of people, including myself, all had a 7800x3d. I saw on another post here in the forums that disabling fast startup would fix it. I tried this and so far it’s been smooth, almost zero issues. If you’d like to try this yourself go to: control panel > hardware and sound > power options > choose what the power buttons do > and then disable fast startup! :)
