Yh especially since LMM only has 6km range
4 spikes is barely any I feel like. Considering all the other top tier FnF helis have at least 8. Also the spikes are only 1 on each hard point meaning they take a lot of space.
it’s an offered but not publicly confirmed to be physically prototyped upgrade option, the Navy hasn’t gone for it at least.
The ultimate missile truck for the UK. +1 sounds awesome!
Yet another Philipino super weapon, right after their ingenious impenetrable super light add on armor technology
I swear they are getting these ideas from an ocean war god
Was just thinking back in this, i think the UK now is the only nation without a good helicopter at top tier? Especially since most have fire and forget missiles now?
+1 if the US gets the SH-3H along side it :) (all nations need naval helicopter)
Definetly need one of these on the back of a Type 45 :P
No, we have slightly better than Japan and the US and Sweden are fairly tide with us, maybe marginally better.
But if a source for IR guided Martels can be 100% confirmed, then the Wildcat just becomes the most logical option for us to get ASAP
there’s no primary sources indicating the IR one has been produced or prototyped, just proposed.
Bit of a non issue though, the Korean Wildcats have spikes.
Production mounts
Pre-delivery testing in the UK
iirc it’s different hard point wings, so you’d have to run Martlets on one side and spikes on the other
figure this would interest you to @Morvran
Yeah, I’ve heard about that before. But it wouldn’t be the first time Britain didn’t get a loadout option because it’s not in the British arsenal. So it’s a 50/50 chance whether we get it or not. But yeah, would be another solid option
the gripens share mavs etc etc so it could happen. ZT-6s would be fun too, given Martlets are still only an 8km missile.
+ the testing wildcat flew in both UK and SK colours so
Martlet on stormer though would be nice as a 2nd option
Have you seen my suggestion for its possible pre-sets on its suggestion forum
