“Avanti ad ogni costo”.
History.
Unfortunately, not much is known about the history of the decal itself. It first appeared on the side of a turret of an Italian M13/40 (or M14/4) tank probably located in North Africa. The decal reappeared in a field located in Italy on an M15/42 tank which was refurbished and used by a famous Italian group to hold military vehicle parades and re-enactments.
The decal.
The decal itself reads “Avanti ad ogni costo” (“Forward at any cost”). The writing is divided into three lines. In the first line there is the word “Avanti”, in the second “ad” and in the third “ogni costo”.
