Right but the AV-8B section posted above still needed to be “okay” to post. Regardless of the topic as awhole.
But anyway back on topic.

Do not leak the DA.7 manuals
Kinda. I would guess that that “Handshake” wouldn’t be a thing. The closest I can imagine it being is a 9 line or equivalent by JTAC/Ground Controller, via radio comms, to the pilot to let him know where to drop. The Bomb would be searching for a LASER from drop.
The extended nose of the Harrier GR.3 is to hold some laser equipment so even IF lower BR harriers it would only go to the AV-8C
AV-8C was unable to carry LGBs, as it did not have a laser-spot tracker for “buddy-lasing” or ground-lasing of the target. They could only carry dumb bombs, rockets, and a pair of Sidewinders for self-defense.
This is why the USMC ended up investing in the AV-8B Harrier II (which not only had a built-in AN/ASB-19 Angle Rate Bombing System/Laser-spot tracker in the nose, but was later able to carry targeting pods for self-designation), which replaced the Legacy Harriers by the late 1980s.
the A and C ingame in there configuration are not able to use laser-guided bombs (they are molded to be before they could do that)
Correct, the LRTMS Laser of the GR.3 is a different wavelength to what the paveway seeker head will work with.
