I’ve noticed that new auto cannon vehicles are being released with autoloader modules and it raises multiple questions.
How realistic is this? Are these actually modules necessary for loading in real life or just a balancing change?
Is this being implemented equally? It seems like multiple nations got autocannons with autoloaders recently but the cannons chosen feel arbitrary.
Will we see this added to autocannons that are already in the game?
Examples:
M1296
This one looks like it’s just a box but I don’t know anything about it
sWaTrgInf
No autoloader but has a modeled track
PUMA
Same gun as sWaTrgInf but has an autoloader?
BMPT
Autoloader is buried but looks necessary
Would this let you still shoot the rounds that are past the autoloader?
Ajax
This one isn’t fed from a belt so it makes sense
BTR-3E1
Type 24 ICV(P)
KF41
Again same gun as sWaTrgInf and PUMA but no autoloader
EBRC Jaguar
Same gun as Ajax
Eitan(P)
Same gun as Type 24 ICV(P)
Should autocannons have autoloader modules?
Feels like you’re missing some vehicles which I feel you need the entire list of vehicles, maybe organized by caliber
I’m saying other as saying “autocannons should have autoloaders” is a bit general, there are auto-cannons like the L21A1 RARDEN on the Warrior IFV that are manually clip fed rather than having an autoloader or belt feeding ammo to them, but vehicles that actually have them should have them modeled. I’m guessing its one of those things where they will go back through modeling autoloaders for vehicles that have them like with ejection seats for aircraft.
I was mostly focused on the new vehicles since they were more relevant and showed the inconsistency
