Great find indeed. Being on an Australian vehicle, and doesn’t sound like it was tested by anyone else, we should indeed be able to add this to the tree.
If @Zerocookiecake is on the money about warhead performance, I think this might still be 8.0 like the U-SH 405 tbh. Yes, it’s only 4 shots then a reload for another 4 shots making 8 total rockets, and the rockets might do less damage overall than the PL-3. But the Hawkei we should keep in mind would be one of the fastest vehicles in the entire game. And the 50cal as a secondary shouldn’t be discounted either.
Speaking of the Hawkei, here’s another earlier instance of it being fitted with the EOS Slinger, this time at DSEI 2019. The RWS looks a bit different here, including the shape of the ammo box, but functionally it is probably identical.
I also found this online graphic of another interesting Hawkei variant that has yet to appear in the flesh. It’s kind of old by this point but perhaps Thales will make it a reality one day.
I don’t know if it is a problem but there is no designated 6.7 vehicle which even other smaller nations like Israel for example has a 6.7 vehicle, the zahclam but 6.7 has a lot of heavies like the T26E5, IS 2 and King Tiger. btw I saw a unarmed boxer CRV down near Bundaberg.
It’s not much of a problem since this is a sub tree suggestion. Although really I’d just like to see Gaijin add nation folders and do Australia that way, but I digress.
It’s also just a user made suggestion, I might have gotten some BRs different to where such a vehicle would actually exist in game. For example, the Land Rover 106mm RCL could end up at 6.7 because of its speed.
Ngl this is actually awesome and love the idea, question, if this is a thing by Gaijin, would they keep the 5/1 as a marketplace vehicle or an actual vehicle for all PS, PC and Xbox? This is great work
Thanks mate. I’m not sure about the 5/1, that’s why I kept it a premium in the suggestion. But the Mk 3 in Vietnam modification is essentially the same spec, so we’d still get a tech tree version either way.
I have added in this Hawkei now.
More the merrier
I say just keep them. Look at the Swedish tree. Tons of trial vehicles.
As a stand-in for the AC IB you could have the E2 with a single 25-Pdr.

Sounds like a worthy 3.7 addition regardless.
Whilst not concrete evidence, the Perentie 6x6 AD Rapier seems to be capable of firing whilst towed. Page 16 from the Australian Army Project Prerentie Profile seems to show evidence of it: “Racking, complete with bow fram es and canvas canopy, is provided down each side of the tray for missiles and equipment. An auxiliary 28 V electrical system is fitted with two batteries beneath the tray floor and a power distribution panel in the cabin. An antenna mount is provided in the top of the right mudguard.”
It also suggests that the Perentie 6x6 AD could mount a single RBS-70 launcher, perhaps this could be added as a seperate vehicle inline with the Swedish Lvrbv 701, maybe BR 9.7 whilst this towed Rapier varient could be a premium?
The document is specifically talking about what is stored in the rear body of the Perentie itself (the vehicle in the cropped image below). It unfortunately doesn’t mention mounting an RBS-70, only that it transports them for the infantry. And I’m pretty sure the towed Rapier can’t fire without dismounting the trailer and setting it up for firing configuration.

However we might still be able to find a mounted RBS-70, I guy standing in the back of an open Land Rover or an M113 or something. I’d also love to be proven wrong about Rapier being able to fire from the trailer on the move without setup.
thats a 25pdr gun is it not?
an 88mm howitzer would be intresting will say, especially if it gets the SV shell
Yes, 25-pdr on a production model A.C.I (as opposed to all the other tests done on the prototype chassis). Low penetration overall, but much better post pen damage than a 2 or 6-pdr I’d think.
Bloody great big solid shot it would do quite well, while having a competent HE shell to backup
So it has been discovered that the Australian army trialed a Fox (already knew about the Scorpion). I should probably add it to the suggestion at some point.
There’s been found some fairly strong evidence of L64 APFSDS being used on the Leopard AS1. This lends well to the notion of having an early and a late year model for it.

Nice if it were true. Colour me suspicious, but that doesn’t look right. Right off the bat it’s third party US based marketing business, and that doc is dated 2011 which is years after the AS1 went out of service. It rather excitedly goes on about the “most recent addition” of TC800, which hasn’t been made since 1992, and complete 105mm tank ammunition production ceased in Australia in 1993. Some ammo components continued to be ADI made, but all L7 ammo after then was imported.
I wouldn’t class that as strong evidence, more like marketing twaddle which hasn’t been updated in a looong time.
