Probably shouldn’t, given the M107 (PF) the Type 99 uses has a much higher velocity and they have similar barrel lengths…
…But Gaijin doesn’t seem to care to fix that OR the AuF1’s primary shell being one it barely even (if at all) used, they prefer to pretend it doesn’t exist because it’s French lol

this has been bugged since release, but gaijin simply doesn’t care enough to fix it…

M107 was officially never used as it got OE 155 F1 specifically for it (then OE 155 F2 and the somehow ingame OE 155 F3)
