I’d prefer if Japan was kept as western as possible, with an Indonesian Rafale but I will not complain about a Malaysian Flanker either, I love Flankers, Malaysia is cool and Japan needs something at top tier, seal of approval on my end

I think tech tree is fine in this context, if they plan on adding more Flankers to the tree
if what they say is accurate, which to paraphrase
premium version of vehicles is not the best variant from the tech tree
then we can probably see the worse ID MK2 as a premium option with the MKM being the better tech-tree alternative. Almost the exact same scenario as the current USSR tree with the venezuelan MK2

so unfortunately F-15SG delayed, but the Malaysian F-18D has been added!
hopefully for the research tree. Imagine it being added as yet another premium hornet . . .

also just 2 planes is quite barren, if Malaysian sub is on 5th line should be easy to fill in CL-41G, CA-27, A-4PTM and Hawk 208, they could even folder in FA-18D with MiG-29N
