Artifacts in warthunder AMD user

I was running into the same issue with a RX 6800 S with the graphical artifacts after a few minutes which would cause issues even outside of War Thunder on my desktop. The issue was unique to War Thunder and would only resolve after a restart of my machine.

I followed all of your steps and the updating of the drivers is what resolved the issue. I had an old version of Adrenalin which I thought was automatically updating itself and my drivers but apparently it wasn’t. I checked the drivers through the Windows device manager utility prior to this, but it thought I was up-to-date which was a false negative.

A two-pronged attack from Gaijin’s loose cannon code monkeys and AMD not idiot proofing their driver pushes as much as Nvidia does. (I think this new version of Adrenalin is now idiot proof enough for my intelligence level)

Thanks @Kmdo_Peach !

Here’s a photo of my symptoms for anyone trying to correlate their own issue with mine. The behavior following me after alt-tabbing to the desktop had me concerned my GPU was shitting the bed. Thankfully not!

Glad to see that you fixed it. It is VERY important to read and follow those instructions in order!

Lets go!

Friends, I managed to solve this problem by uninstalling the AMD video card driver and reinstalling only the driver in the installer options, without installing AMD Adrenalin or AMD Pro, look for an option to install only the driver without installing these applications that make Warthunder bug/crash

I’ve found solution.
Go to steamapps\common\War Thunder
Find config.blk
Edit in notepad or notepad c++
Find driver:t=“auto”
Change to driver:t=“dx12”
Save and close
Right click config.blk → properties → tick “read only” → save and close
Enter war thunder.

Updating your graphic drivers will also work, but is not neccesarily best option for people that seek drivers for very certain or older program supports.

Thanks bro, it works!

I’ve had this issue before, and this will sound dumb; but have you done a hard reset, in the span of your computers life?

Reason I ask this is because I had a similar issue, only once, and it took a hard reset to fix it, identical to your first image, it was pink and psychedelic all over the screen like that. Although I had a similar issue, I use a Nvida card, the 1660 super.
