Ah… but you still have to take off. Need to add Catapult, a ramp or airspawn, taking off without one of those 3 is too difficult, you have to manage flaps and everything

I’ve never overrun a ruwnway in WT. Brakes aren’t perfect, but adequate.
Certainly not an argument to force something so stubbornly onto people who can actually fly and land an aircraft.
I’ve done it like once or twice on certain aircraft. But it’s still annoying since it feels like brakes on many aircraft don’t do much. I don’t mind the arresting wire and I don’t mind not having it but aircraft brakes could be better
What if they just made it so you could communicate with AF somehow, maybe with multifunction menu or something on the map, and have them raise or lower the arresting wire
That is just overkill for WT
Just:
- Separate Hook and Gears so they arent deployed together
- Put max speed and/or weight requirements to use the cable. Land too heavy and/or too fast and it doesnt work at a minimum, kills you at worse
Gaijin would need to change a lot of server code to allow for player specific instancing
Adding a switch for autocontrol of arresting gear is a billion times easier
They could expand on the mechanic to do lots of other cool stuff like switching loadouts midair so as soon as you rearm it’s with the new loadout
Not a terrible idea but very larpy
I don’t think you can switch loadouts normally in ground RB so it would be nice. Maybe just make it cost whatever the SP difference between that loadout and whatever you are currently running.

I primarily play subsonics, it is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
Im indifferent to that change in ARB. At least I prefer it over a single spawn point, so if we went back Id want at least 2 AFs with the team split evenly between them
If they did that it might make carrier spawns useful
I want 4 across large maps. Which should have been common sense over the change they opted for.
It also makes it more of a tradeoff to climb or not, and allows more time for positioning

Yeah, that would be great in an ideal world, though not even all EC maps have 4 AFs
EC maps have 2, if you’re lucky, in RB. It’s just mismanagement of the highest order to cater to the attention deficient specimens amongst certain high player count nations.
