Background

Arma Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicle is highly modular, amphibious, wheeled armored fighting vehicle family designed and developed by Otokar. Development of Arma fighting vehicle family started in 2007 as a private venture of Otokar. First Arma was revealed in 2010 in 6x6 configuration. In 2011, first Arma with 8x8 configuration was revealed to public. Both 6x6 and 8x8 configurations found success in export market and 8x8 version is expected to be selected by Turkish Army for Special Purpose Tactical Wheeled Armoured Vehicle project, no information about contract yet.

Arma 6x6

Arma 6x6 was developed as armored personnel carrier by Otokar as private venture. Development started in 2007 to meet Turkish Army’s requirement for 6x6 armored personnel carrier with amphibious capabilities, and revealed in 2010. Although Arma 6x6 is not chosen by Turkish Army, it found success in export market.

Arma 6x6 is a highly modular tactical wheeled vehicle. Thanks to its high modularity, it can be fitted with variety of turret and weapon systems and fulfil different operational roles, such as:

Arma 6x6 (MIZRAK-25)

New generation Arma 6x6 in Infantry Fighting Vehicle configuration armed with Otokar’s own, new generation MIZRAK-30 Turret System. New generation Arma 6x6 is replaced older gen Arma 6x6 with BOZOK-25 turret in defense fairs. Since then, it is widely exhibited in fairs.

General Specifications
Firepower

Arma 6x6’s hitting power comes from a 25mm dual-feed auto-cannon and co-axial 7.62mm machine-gun on MIZRAK-25 turret system. The cannon is most likely to be either M242 Bushmaster or Oerlikon KBA, though no official information about specifics of the gun.

MIZRAK-25

MIZRAK-25 is unmanned, dual-axis stabilised turret system designed and developed by Otokar. MIZRAK-25 by the looks, is pretty much the same with new generation MIZRAK-30 Turret System except for the main armament. Unlike MIZRAK-30, MIZRAK-25 is armed with 25mm dual-feed auto-cannon and co-axial 7.62mm machine-gun. Turret system can be controlled by both gunner and commander and has access to Thermal and Night Sights as well as Day Camera to identify and engage threats. MIZRAK-25 has access to moderns accessories such as Laser Range Finder, Automatic Target Tracking System and likely Laser Warning Receiver.

Mobility

Arma 6x6 is powered by 450 horsepower unspecified diesel engine, possibly Caterpillar C9, coupled with single-speed transfer box and automatic gearbox. Arma 6x6 has power to weight ratio 24.3 hp/t with maximum top speed of 105 km/h. With hydropneumatic suspension, Arma 6x6 offers superb off-road mobility. Vehicle also comes with built-in central tyre inflation system and fitted in standard with run-flat tires. This version of Arma 6x6 does not appears to be amphibious.

Protection

Arma 6x6 with its monocoque steel hull offers high level of ballistic protection against KE projectiles, mine protection and IED threats. Modular structure of armor allows composite modules to be replaced in need of repair or operational requirements, even in battlefield environment. Although there is no official documentation, baseline and amphibious models are believed to not exceed STANAG 4569 Level II. There is also an optional slat armor package for Arma 6x6. Vehicle is also equipped with TDU’s Mobile Camouflage System to decrease detection level of the platform.

Implementation to War Thunder

Arma 6x6 Family should be reserved for future Turkish Ground Forces Tech Tree. Arma 6x6 (ARMA-25) would be excellent support vehicle with high speed, fast firing auto-cannon and top notch situational awareness. BR-wise I would say it would fit around somewhere between 8.0 to 8.3 Battle Rating.
