Why didn’t it get turret basket? (Glad it did not get it, but i am still wondering how gaijin did not give it turret basket and make it even more worse?)

It does look like a nerf, but it looks alot better than what they did with leclerc

That’s exactly what Italy needed to fight the bias at top tier. Italy is the META, needs to be nerfed !

Id like to add the only other tank i could find this “brown armour modelling block” with was the challenger 3 TD, i believe its turret armour is same to other challenger 2s, counting this brown block as 400mm of composite.

Every ariete now has this modelling, including certezza.
it also says on the armour preview “variable thickness armour” around the turret and front hull.
Unlike its current version

so Ariete is finally going to be able of tanking 1 single 2A42’s APDS from a Ka-52 without dying in the process?

Is the turret cheek still pennable by 3bm42? I wonder if this is the final change they’ll make to the Ariete, I’m still waiting for the WAR kit fix

I wonder how much of it is still WIP, but…

So far;

-Right cheek: 400mm KE
-Left cheek: 390mm KE
-Glacis: 300mm KE

I wonder if they’ve fixed the WAR kit or not; as I don’t have any Ariete, I can’t install it and check the armor viewer.

WAR should be providing at least about 150mm KE, not… 10 as it currently does lmao.

The WAR armor isn’t going to be fixed anytime soon unfortunately.
While we do know that it was made to counter KE threats, we know that dimensions and weight do indicate that it should be mostly steel, unfortunately there are some bolts that seems to indicate that the package has layers inside it that need to be kept under tension.
Therefore until someone discovers how it’s actually made, it’s quite unlikely that Gaijin will improve it.

With the War kit 3bm42 has a low pen possibility on both sides of the turret cheeks

It seems its very WIP.
To clarify earlier about the “variable thickness armour”

The current version in game has many different segments around the turret, individual parts modelled
the dev server has entire sections of the turret and ufp modelled as just one ‘segment of variable thickness’.

hopefully images clarify this
I’m not sure why they would simplify it to this degree, if it wasnt a WIP for something else. If anyone has any idea why they would do this please say lol

By bug reporting, yeah, unlikely. Although devs could do guesswork just like they did with WAR first implementation, but with more parameters in mind.

I think this is generally a side grade from what I see. We finally get mantlet and hull armor, but more air in the important spot (turret cheeks)

Apparently Italy knows how to make composite armor, but chooses not to make enough to fill their tank turrets (according to gaijin)

Did they change the LFP effectiveness? I swear on first dev iteration the LFP was immune to the PUMA’s apfsds at point blank, now it’s back to being the same LFP effectiveness as on live

Looks like they are pretty much done with the Ariete changes. I was hoping for actual armor increase, or even WAR kit fix. Wonder how many more years we’ll have to wait for another 50mm of armor increase…

from when I tested, the armor didnt actually change. Like the turret cheeks still are like 387mm of KE protection (same as before).

Also the hull still is basically the same. Also in the armor analysis, the protection values havent seem to be changed. So it is all pretty much just visual and minor minor real change

So far, KE in the turret and WAR remain the same…

Hull is fixed, though.

I hope the turret improves at least enough to actually be able to withstand some shells!
