The WAR armor isn’t going to be fixed anytime soon unfortunately.
While we do know that it was made to counter KE threats, we know that dimensions and weight do indicate that it should be mostly steel, unfortunately there are some bolts that seems to indicate that the package has layers inside it that need to be kept under tension.
Therefore until someone discovers how it’s actually made, it’s quite unlikely that Gaijin will improve it.
With the War kit 3bm42 has a low pen possibility on both sides of the turret cheeks

To clarify earlier about the “variable thickness armour”
The current version in game has many different segments around the turret, individual parts modelled
the dev server has entire sections of the turret and ufp modelled as just one ‘segment of variable thickness’.

I’m not sure why they would simplify it to this degree, if it wasnt a WIP for something else. If anyone has any idea why they would do this please say lol
Did they change the LFP effectiveness? I swear on first dev iteration the LFP was immune to the PUMA’s apfsds at point blank, now it’s back to being the same LFP effectiveness as on live
Looks like they are pretty much done with the Ariete changes. I was hoping for actual armor increase, or even WAR kit fix. Wonder how many more years we’ll have to wait for another 50mm of armor increase…
from when I tested, the armor didnt actually change. Like the turret cheeks still are like 387mm of KE protection (same as before).
Also the hull still is basically the same. Also in the armor analysis, the protection values havent seem to be changed. So it is all pretty much just visual and minor minor real change
